Trash, garbage, riu bambu sucks + Garbage, trash, horrible stay, this place is terrible. They don't know nothing, everything is broken and worst they don't have managers or supervisors to help people out, I've stayed in some bad hotels but this takes the cake. The safe box doesn't work they had sent someone over to fix it, and look at the beds that we got, for a couple on their honeymoon

Great Family Vacay + Travelled as a family with kids. Stayed for 1 week. I like reviews by section, so here’s mine the way I’d want to read it: 🍽️ Food Great with lots of options — steakhouse, sushi bar, buffet. We never went hungry and had zero stomach issues, which was important for us. Tip: Try to go a bit earlier to avoid lines at specialty restaurants. 🛏️ Rooms Older but clean and well maintained. Beds are definitely on the firm side — if that bothers you, take note. That said, after a full day in the sun, we slept fine. 🌴 Grounds Immaculate. Constantly being cleaned and maintained — one of the highlights of the resort. 💦 Waterpark About a 5-minute walk up the main drive. Never too busy and the kids absolutely loved it. Tip: Bring sandals — pavement gets hot. 🏖️ Beach Beautiful, classic Punta Cana beach. Plenty of space and no issues finding chairs. 🙋 Service I’d describe it as solid but not over-the-top. I cannot recommend this hotel + My room phone hasn’t worked since I arrived two days ago. This is very common here. I’ve spoken to many other people with the same issue. I’m concerned that if my partner or I myself had an emergency we would not be able to get help. It seems to be the company’s intention for us to use the Riu app and not the phone. The app is not easy to use always kicking you out making you sign back in and it’s a convoluted affair. I’ve been here two nights two days. No matter how much I request assistance I’m not getting it. I have to say dining room service and cleanliness are excellent but front desk management, I’m sorry it’s just unacceptable here. There are several buildings with rooms. It all feels like student residence. It’s just as noisy as any student residence I’ve ever seen. You hear every shower every toilet - air-conditioning and fridge are noisy. Very Average + The food was fine. The room was fine. Beach and water were amazing. Good drinks. Room was loud from hallway noise. Ground floor room and sliding door was left unlocked a couple of times after cleaning.

Good all inclusive + We decided to go ahead and stay at Riu Bambú, and to be honest, I was a bit concerned after reading so many reviews. However, as soon as we arrived, it was obvious that people tend to complain about trivial things. The hotel is massive and shares the water park, Riu Party area, casino, and 24hour doctor with the other Riu hotels. The rooms were spacious enough, bed was confy and the shower always had hot water. I had to ask for some blankets as I always feel cold when sleeping and the bed had no duvets, and after 5min the staff brought not one but two blankets (happy days). Everything was clean, and the water bottles were consistently replaced (we don’t drink so cannot give an opinion about the free bar in the bedrooms). There are a few minor issues they could fix in the rooms, such as the mosquito net door not opening properly, but it’s nothing that would put me off returning. The trip was the best I've been on + My girlfriend and I spent 7 days at this resort, the first thing I noticed when we arrived was the cleanliness and high quality of service from everyone working at this resort. The food was outstanding, with an amazing selection everyday! All the staff were extremely pleasant and in particular the 2 bartenders at the swim up bar, Rammuel and Johnny were awesome! They were always happy and engaging with people, they take pride in their work and have fun while doing it! They made the trip even more fun! Our room was cleaned everyday and the quality of cleaning was top notch everytime! The 1 and only downside is noticed was that our smoke alarm would go off 3 or 4 times every morning for a few minutes which was pretty annoying but I'm unsure if that was due to a smoke alarm fault or if someone was smoking in their room at 8am and setting them off. My stay at RIU Bambu + I could tell that this property is one of the older properties. So I won't rate it really really bad. However, I did not like that there were several issues going on with our room (6035). Not sure if previous visitors brought these issues to anyone's attention or not and they just weren't handled. But I was very disappointed to find that our air condition vent was leaking. We had to put a bucket underneath to collect the water. Our sliding patio screendoor was broken. The drain in the shower kept collecting water like it may have been clogged or something. We never got any washcloths. We only got the big bath towels and hand towels. And last but not least, the phone on the nighstand wasn't working. There was no dial tone at all. Just a dead phone sitting on the nightstand. Otherwise, our stay was ok. Just didn't expect to walk into a room with so many issues that should have already been rectified.

Warm and Friendly place + The staff was my biggest surprise. Everyone welcome us everyday with joy and positive attitude. The installations were always clean and tidy. There was a few issues with the cold water in the shower and TV no having a great signal but nothing to really be worry. Overall such a good place to come back

I can’t wait to visit again + I visited Hotel Riu Bambu with my husband, son and our sales man for our company on a family/ business trip here from March 8- 22. The location was beautiful. The beach is surreal. The staff were all amazing. The food was great. Jorge and Joel were awesome servers. There are so many varieties of food from different cultures. The sports bar made the best lemon drops and the swim up bar made the best strawberry margaritas. There’s always snacks available in the sports bar. The rooms were good. There could be some up dates in the rooms, like newer mirrors in the bathroom, but nothing major. It looks like the hotel is working on those upgrades. There were always staff around constantly cleaning and fixing any issues. There was even a man clearing up coconuts and offering them to guests. There’s always snacks at the sports bar. Just Awful, Stay Awal you were warned! + Not sure where to start with this Nightmare! Lets do the very limited ok thing. Lady that cleaned our room did an amazing job for what she had to work with. One alacarte the Italian was good, the rest junk. The buffet breakfeast was decent good assortment. Lunch at buffet was limited junk every day the same with dinner. Room was very dated, noisy air conditioner, double sinks for bathroom one the faucet was not even attached and when lifted handle for water came out of its place in sink. Patio door did not shut properly and space at botton for flies to get in as well screen kicked out at bottom. Fire alarms going off in the middle of the night no one getting sleep. Rodents never seen one in our room but couple we met had a rodent in there room. Too many obnoxious drunks stagering all over and bothering people constantly. Some Improvement + Employees need to know where restaurants and other ground locations are located. Many employees point you in the wrong direction. Also, do something about spraying for bugs located on the first level floor. Had a roach running around at night.

My experience with Transportation + The restaurant were good and the staff at the Colonial and Mama Juana restaurant were amazing. Their service was excellent. I gave it a three out of five because at the end of my stay. After speaking with Ezequiel that helped me and my sister with transportation to go back to the airport. All information was given to him travel dates and all. He also helped us book a trip for the horse back running and zip lining knowing we had to leave Sunday morning at 7:30 am and back to the resort at 4:30 pm. Ezequiel schedule is from 9-3 pm, which didn’t give us time to meet with him or anyone else about making sure that our transportation was set for Monday morning. Our plane was scheduled to depart at 11:30 am. I was at the lobby this morning at 7:00 am trying to figure out transportation, my family couldn’t eat breakfast. 2026 Girls’ Trip + We just got back from a girls trip and overall had a great time. We would recommend this resort for younger, healthy, and mobile guests. Here’s our honest and balanced take. Hotel & Rooms Our first room was extremely far from the main lobby, beach, and restaurants. At a resort this large, we were surprised there’s no transportation to move guests around. Because one of us has mobility issues, we requested a change, and the staff accommodated us with a much closer room near the beach in Building 90. That location turned out to be perfect. The room itself was updated and kept very clean. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job throughout our stay. The only issue was the shower door, which didn’t work well—but the shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. A fun family vacation + The pools and beach at RIU Bambu are beautiful and they make up for a lot of what this resort is lacking. The food is all buffet and pretty basic. If you go with the pasta or the other live cooking stations you can put together a decent meal but otherwise the food is ok. The rooms are also dated and need renovation. That being said me and my two kids 17 and 15 had a very enjoyable vacation hanging by the pool and the beach. Just know before you go this is a 3 star hotel overall and if you aren’t looking for luxury or gourmet food you will have a great time.

Good + I would like to mention Proki from bar Azucar who was one bar staff that gave us excellent service. Bar Sands first week not so good Bar staff require training on manners and smiling. Generally hotel and rooms are getting a bit tatty and require refurbishing

A good place for the price + This resort is not a 4 or 5 star I believe. I was away just my daughter and myself ( she’s 22) so we could go to the parties and hang out by the pool. If you are going here for luxury don’t. It is a ok resort with some great staff. The food was ok, no real complaints other than the à la carte restaurants were actually buffet style as well which I didn’t like. The steak house is the only only restaurant that isn’t, and the food was amazing there! So good!! The pools are really nice swim bar is great as well, great service at the bars. Lots of sun chairs in pool area but they do fill up quickly. All in all it was a fun trip on a budget more so feel.
