Good hotel at an excellent location + It is at an excellent location with many attractions to explore nearby. It is also favorably located with respect to PEK T3, and the related metro stations. It is clearly a high-end hotel that targets an international clientele, which is reflected in the customer-service orientation of the employees. − The air conditioning system was strange; apparently, one cannot control an individual rooms’s temperature, rather it is centrally controlled.

All perfect if it wasn’t for the restaurant service + Main reception was great, check in went very smoothly and we even got a room upgrade which was incredible - one of the nicest rooms I’ve ever been. Housekeeping was great, really nice and careful. − Both experiences in the restaurant were uncomfortable (not to say bad). On our first night we went to have dinner and they clearly wanted us to eat fast, they even interrupted our meal just to have me paying. Two days after we went for breakfast - we went at 9:55 since we were told that they could serve us until 10:30, but apparently it was only until 10:00. As a result, we had a waiter going after us with the translator saying “take all the food you want because we will start removing it”. Within 5min there was no food and we spent all breakfast with the background noise of the employees laughing, joking and cleaning around the area. We never came back to the restaurant because of this.

+ The location is good, close to the airport link and other attractions such as Hutong, city centre. Lots of restaurants in the vicinity. − According to my reservation, the check-out time was 3 PM. However, the staff called my room around 2pm and said that check-out was at 2 PM, and that I would be charged a half-day rate if I stayed until 3 PM. I asked them to verify the reservation, but they insisted on the earlier time saying it is the hotel policy. My room key stopped working at 2 PM, which prevented me from using the lift to access the reception (so maybe it is really the hotel policy). This seemed to indicate either a miscommunication between the hotel and Booking.com, or a lack of awareness among the staff regarding certain reservations. There are lots of restaurants nearby but not a big supermarket. Finally, the room facing the street was quite noisy due to traffic outside, better to ask for a room facing another side.

+ Good choice for a short stay in Beijing. Within walking distance of Dongzhimen Station (Lines 2 and 13 and the Capital Airport Express) and Beixinqiao Station (Line 5). The area offers many local food spots, including the famous Guijie (food street). A 10-15 minute taxi ride will get you to key sights such as Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and Wangfujing; during rush hour the metro is more convenient (the Airport Express connects the airport with Dongzhimen/Beixinqiao). The hotel is in a business area; reception is on the 3rd floor and staff will point the way at the entrance. Staff were very polite and helped arrange advance registration for Tiananmen Square (take a note: same‑day registration is impossible). Rooms feature a very large bathroom with both a bathtub (city view, not very scenic) and a shower - very convenient.
