every moment of our stay was perfection..... + from check in...with cool towells and flavored water, to being offered an upgrade (which we accepted), to sitting in the beautiful, tastefully decorated lobby and to just being in such a beautifully designed space which offered calm, relaxation and a feeling of being pampered...we had stayed here some years ago and appreciated the new lobby furniture, the new shop in the lobby for breakfast, the refreshed rooms and the pool amenities...everyone was cheerful, eager to help or point us in the right direction..was an outstanding way to begin our stay on Maui...will return...thank you all at the Kapalua Ritz...you gave us a great memory.

Ritz Cracker + Lifetime Titanium Elite — and I've handed Marriott enough money over the years that they invited me up to Ambassador on top of that, which is the top tier you don't sign up for so much as bleed your way into. If you don't speak loyalty-program: that's roughly the relationship equivalent of being married with a joint account and matching bathrobes. You do not miss a 4pm check-in on the guy with the matching bathrobes. I have stayed at a truly stupid number of these properties and it has NEVER happened to me. Not once. Until Kapalua. We rolled up dead on time, in gym clothes, and stood in a line for almost thirty minutes like a couple of walk-ins who wandered in off the beach. No luggage help. No rewards line. No nothing. Honestly? If that were the whole story I'd have sighed, swallowed my three stars, and gotten on with my vacation. Then the power went out. And this is where I went from mildly deflated to genuinely angry, because they KNEW. There was a public warning mo…

Beautiful grounds, good facility, light on staff- mid/decent for cost. + First, I had a great time and visit to Maui. But trying to be objective in my review for what I feel was the experience versus cost. I likely I wouldn’t stay here again. Beautiful property, grounds. Facility is a tad dated but very well maintained. We stayed in a residential suite, well appointed and nice features… bathroom a little dated. Our friends in the regular rooms said they could hear other people in their bathroom. Food is great but gets old after a bit. Weren’t a lot of staff around to help guests, not at all what I expect for service from previous stays at the ritz. Also amentities were lacking based on the cost. Need a shuttle to the other beaches within a short radius. Whats 80$ daily resort fee for really providing?

Nice stay, but probably not worth the high price tag. + The resort occupies a premium spot in an exclusive part of the island and is very relaxing. The adults only pool is a nice touch and the hotel rooms were very clean. The fire pit patio was a nice touch. − We were given a room with a connecting door which unfortunately meant we could hear everything next door including low-volume conversations. We requested a different room but were informed they were all occupied. Furthermore the hotel is quite a distance from popular tours and activities so a car is essential for first-time visitors. The bars and restaurants are also very expensive, but that comes with the territory and is to be expected. Overall, not a bad stay, but for the price, I’m not sure I’d say again.

Amazing Ritz Kapalua vacation + My wife and I recently stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Maui and it was one of the most memorable hotel experiences we have ever had. The service was exceptional—exactly what you would hope for from a luxury resort, yet delivered with a warmth and sincerity that made it feel truly personal. Throughout our stay, the staff consistently went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. We loved the relaxed elegance and ambience of the property, and the views of the ocean from the lobby and throughout the resort were simply breathtaking. The dining was excellent, from enjoying meals by the water at the Burger Shack to relaxing at the Lobby Lounge. What stood out most, however, was the culture of hospitality that seemed evident in every employee we encountered. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already looking forward to returning to this special place.

Beautiful Place + Amazing experience. We chose this resort for our honeymoon and left already talking about coming back. The entire staff was warm and welcoming, the grounds were beautiful, and the spa was incredible. The resort felt classy and luxurious without ever feeling pretentious. Kapalua definitely has more unpredictable weather than other parts of Maui, but we were happy to trade a few extra rain showers for the peace and quiet. The resort never felt loud or overcrowded—it was relaxed without feeling empty. The beach is just a short walk away (there is a bit of a hill), and it's only a short Uber ride to Lahaina and Kāʻanapali. We're so glad we chose to stay here and wouldn't hesitate to come back.

fantastic + gorgeous views from the Hotel, lovely walk to beaches, amazing food, great service and ambience − bars and restaurants could have stayed open later. Pool service could have been open longer.

Everything felt personalized, and the staff were exceptional as was the grounds. + It was isolated from many of the resorts on a cooler and luxurious feeling Hideaway. Everything was spotless and the hotel itself was exceptional. − It is windy and at times it does rain however it did not interfere in any way with the pool or other activities. We did rent chairs, an umbrella, which we could not use very long due to the wind on the beach.

Gross Furniture in Paradise + We paid for a suite. Got to our room, noticed that out of the 10 pieces of furniture that 9 of them had serious stains on them. We asked to be moved as the price was not cheap… denied. They did offer to send the housekeepers to the room to “clean the furniture. They did flip 3 pillows but the rest of the furniture was left as is. Over the next couple of days we hung out by the pool and enjoyed Maui. The lobby had the same issue however stains on nearly every piece of furniture. If they want to keep the luxury price tag they better be willing to keep th property up to sniff.

Highly recommended place to stay - Ritz Carlton Maui Kapalua + We had an amazing night at The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua while celebrating our daughter’s birthday and we somehow managed to fit a lot of wonderful memories into one stay! The grounds are stunning and the resort feels peaceful and secluded while still being close to nearby beaches and restaurants. We loved walking the Coastal Trail at sunrise, even if getting out of bed that early required a little vacation-level determination. D.T. Fleming Beach is gorgeous and noticeably less crowded than many nearby beaches. The Burger Shack is also a perfect spot for an outdoor lunch with beautiful ocean views because burgers always taste better at the beach. The pools are fantastic. The area was lively, but it never felt overly crowded, and there were plenty of opportunities to relax and pretend we had no responsibilities waiting for us back home. For our special birthday dinner, we ate at the Banyan Tree Restaurant, where our server, L…

Very Nice Resort but..... + I love Ritz-Carlton properties. We stayed here recently for the Food and Wine festival. Our first issue was we waited 20 minutes just to check in. What was frustrating about that was only one person was working the counter, but three people were in the concierge's area; all three doing nothing. Send one over to help for Pete's sake. Our room was good. Pools are good but very crowded. Pool service has to be search for at times. The beach is nice but quite a hike from the hotel. They have the best club room I have ever seen at any property. Their people were very nice. Valet parking at $68 a day...so be aware if you have a rental.

Awesome place to enjoy Maui + The Ritz Kapalua was the first Ritz I stayed at. What an amazing experience! The customer is at the center of everything they do. Location was beautiful (great rooms, amazing pool, easy access to ocean/beach). There was great dining options on site. I enjoyed every minute of being there and they made my family vacation exceptional!. I will seek out Ritz for future family vacations!

Almost perfect + We really enjoyed our 4 night stay. Kapalua is more tranquil than Kaanapali or Wailea yet only ~15 minutes away from Kaanapali and Lahaina for convenience. Although it's not the newest looking Ritz, I disagree with others who said it looked dated. I thought it looked classic/timeless. The lobby is beautiful and the room was great. The pools are really nice and we liked how 1 of 3 pools is adults only. The beach was closer to the main hotel than I expected. It was just a short walk downhill with golf cart shuttles routinely available to bring you back. However, the waves were pretty big. Even on the calmest days those who prefer calm water wouldn't want to swim here. The breakfast buffet (included with Chase Sapphire booking) was solid with some options rotating each day. The burger shack lived up to the hype. We never ate dinner at the hotel. There are only a couple other restaurant options walking distance from the hotel, but there are dozens within a 1…

Fake Beach Resort. + THIS IS NOT A BEACH RESORT! How can you call a hotel a beach resort if there is absolutely ZERO beach service. The only thing in that beach is the option to spend $85 for two chairs and an umbrella. At a Ritz! Shameful! So we would have to spend over $200 for 5 of us. Outrageous! Why would I go to Maui and sit at a pool? The concierge had nothing to say about the beach at all. Also shameful. The grounds are very nice and the staff was really great! The lobby bar was great too with some live music. Can you believe a massive Ritz wouldn’t have room service past 9 or 10pm? Especially when they tell you in advance that if you have a late flight you better find something to eat on your way. Crazy! The hallways were a mess. Plates of food, room service dishes etc. We saw the same plate of apples for at least two straight days. I would def think about finding a true beach resort. This wasn’t it.

Very Dissapointing Experience + We just got back from our summer family vacation to Maui. After reveiwing many different options we settled on the Ritz as we were looking for a luxury experience. Let's get the good things out of the way first. The Accomidations (2 Bedroom Suite) was very nice and large. It was perfect for our family of 4. The location of the resort in Kapula, beautifful all the way around natural beauty. Some what seculded but in a good way. No for all the dissapointing areas. Over all this resort is old and really starting to show its age. But beyond that it was really the lack of service, quality and attention to detial. This is not at the level of any other Ritz we have stayed at and we have stayed a several. Food quality accross the board was average at best, at the pool, breakfast buffett, burger shack, Banyan Tree. Nothing was great it was all so very average or worse (ceaser salad at the pool was terrible). Now as for service, outside of the Valet Stand and Ho…
