Bring your own flash light Hotel + No bathroom in-the-room. No lights in the hallway. (complete darkness when goes to bathroom down the hall. Had to use my cell-flashlight) After mid-night saw a man sleeping on the floor behind the counter.

香港最大級の台風の中で宿泊！良くも悪くもいい体験でした！ + かねてから興味のあった重慶大厦（チョンキンマンション）。酷評や「意外と大丈夫」など様々なレビューが飛び交い、なかなか宿泊に踏み切れなかった中、2018年のシルバーウィークの連休中に香港を襲った台風22号の最中での香港滞在で、飛行機欠航によって延泊の必要が発生し、思い切って宿泊してみることに！ 結論としては「無問題」でしたが、なかなかのハードルもありました！ まずは「エレベーター」。宿泊するホテルがあるのはAブロック、16階建のビルにしてはショボい2基のエレベーターは台風で運転停止中。近くには階段も見当たらない。さて16階までどうやって辿り着くか。エレベーター前で呆然としているとアラブ系のおっちゃんが「こっちだよ」と案内してくれそうな動きに出たが、恐怖心からすっと身を引く。その後遠巻きにエレベーターを観察しているとエレベーターに乗り込む数人の人が。すかさず自分も同乗！察するに、足が悪い老人だったそうで、イレギュラーで稼働させたっぽい。そして無事に16階に到着。 次の問題が「チェックイン」。頭にターバンを巻いたお兄さんが受付してくれました。唐突に100HK＄の要求。デポジットだろうとは思いながら、ボッタクられるのも覚悟で渡しましたが、これは結果的にチェックアウト時に返却されました。 続いては「違うホテルへの案内」。チェックアウトが完了すると「8F Singaporl」と書かれたメモを渡された。「？」と思いつつも、エレベーターは運転していないため奥の階段で8階まで下る。しかし8階には窓口的なカウンターは一切無く途方に暮れる。すると屈強な黒人さんが現れ、フロアの解錠方法や部屋への案内、諸々の説明とともにカードキーを渡してくれました。 駆け足な展開に呆然としながらも、ひとまず荷物が置けて一安心。他のレビュアーの方も書いていますが、香港の安宿ではホテル間での連携は日常茶飯事のようですね。知らないとちょっと困惑しますので、事前に想定しておく方が賢明です。 この日は台風でエレベーターは停止中。宿泊者は狭い階段を地道に昇降し外出していました。結果G階の裏手にある階段の場所も把握でき、重慶大厦の全貌を窺い知れたような気がしました。 台風上陸で、尖沙咀ではコンビニに至るまでの全ての店舗がCLOSEしている中、重…

Prison cells operated by scam artists + The room was a prison cell. The open floor space was 1 sq meter; just enough for the door to swing in. Bed was enclosed on all sides by walls. The 1 window looked out onto the concrete wall of the next building, close enough to touch. Bathroom is 4'x3': shower, toilet, sink altogether with a broken water heater. There's some sort of machinery upstairs rattling away all night. Only at night. During the day it was mostly kids screaming in the hall. Ashoka is on the 13th floor of a large multipurpose building. I walked those stairs at least once a day because the elevator was broken or so busy that nobody can get on. Expect a 10 minute wait for the elevator on the ground floor. The front desk was occupied about 25% of the time. This will come up later. When I checked in, I paid $100 HKD for a deposit on the keycard. When I left, there was nobody at the front desk to give me my deposit back. I put the keycard on the desk and called them…

Ideal for overnight stay + I have stayed here before-so know this is small, very small, but it was clean and had a TV, Hairdryer and hotwater in the hall if you bought your own coffee/tea. Reception is on the 16th floor, which really should be noted on Hotels.com, plus a 100 $Hong Kong is required as a deposit, they expected £ as I didnt have enough in HK$. The lift queue is long, so be prepared. Ideal for late check in. Staff were pleasant and everything worked as it should apart from the wi-fi.

立地は最高です。雰囲気を味わうにはいいと思います + 重慶大厦入口入ってすぐ左側にあるエレベーターで上がってください。ただ…Hotels.comサイトでも所在地は重慶大厦A棟13階となっており、実際に現地13階に「アショカホステル」はあるんです。でも外から入れそうな気配はなく、たまたま通りがかった女性に16階だということを教えてもらいました。タイミングが悪ければ途方に暮れていたと思います。。実際は16階です。ご注意ください。 設備は必要最小限。トイレにシャワーがついている感じ。設置してあるペーパーを濡らさないように避難させてからシャワーを浴びることをオススメします。僕はうっかりやっちゃいました(^^;)> 1Fエントランスは相変わらず猥雑な雰囲気で、苦手な人にはホントに無理なんだろうとは思いますが、こんな雰囲気を味わえる場所も香港にあっては貴重な存在だと思います。気になる方は今のうちに体験されることをオススメします。自分が訪れた時点では、落書きや数カ所のメトロ入口封鎖など多少デモの傷跡はあったものの、不自由なく香港旅行を満喫できました。 デポジットは125$でした。若いお兄ちゃんは端数をごまかそうとするので気になる方は要注意(^^)

Ideal for Travelers on a Budget + I've stayed at Ashoka Hostel before. If you are a budget traveler, I can't recommend this place enough. I needed a cheap place to stay while getting my visa updated last year. So I stayed here again. I stayed during the May holiday this time, which meant the price was more than $44 a night, but it was still a bargain. If you are looking for a safe place to sleep and clean up, this is it. I didn't have a refrigerator this time, but it was okay. The rooms are super-tiny. But it didn't matter to me, since I was going out sightseeing anyway. I had clean towels every day, plenty of soap/shampoo, and an air conditioner and a fan so my room was nice and cool for sleeping. Plus, it's located right on Nathan Road, which made it close to so many cool things. Easy to walk to Victoria Harbour and other attractions as well. One of the staffers even remembered me! Excelente localização mas paciência com o elevador + Excelente localização, funcionários super solicitos, limpeza do ambiente, água grátis. Não gostei do banheiro pois era pequeno, não ficava limpo, chuveiro em cima do vaso e a entrada pelo elevador que era caótica pois tinham muitas hospedagens no mesmo prédio.
