Attractive boutique hotel in the middle of Shrewsbury + Breakfast excellent - served in a delightful conservatory. Well stocked honesty bar’ a real bonus. − Room on second floor accessed by narrow spiral staircase a little difficult for elderly client!

Excellent guesthouse and we would certainly stay again. + The breakfast choice was excellent with a full continental breakfast available in addition to cooked. The cooked breakfast was a sensible size and beautifully cooked. Bearing in mind how close we were to town, there was very little disturbance, in fact no disturbance from the street. We were in the garden rooms. − The room we stayed in was quite small making it difficult to place two suitcases where they wouldn't be in the way but I appreciate there is little that can be done about room size.

Definitely felt special in room 15. + Super breakfast. Excellent mattress. Large bathroom

Darwin’s Douche + Convenient close to the River Severn and to the centre of Shrewsbury. Obviously focussed on Darwin with unusual features/art and bric a vrac. − Plumbing was not good where we were on the second floor. Loo did not flush effectively, shower water was so so and shower drain was not working well so had to leave the shower before it flooded the bathroom and rooms below. Hard to walk up the stairs with baggage . Luckily we kept ours to the minimum.

Room adequate for only one night. If we wanted stay longer we would choose a more expensive inside room which we know ar + Very good location. Breakfast is outstanding − The rooms in the outside block are a bit small. They could be improved by taking out the large lamps etc to give more room. No air conditioning - fortunately wasn’t hot weather.

Appalling. For an award winning hotel, I was disgusted. + There was nothing wrong with the room as such − there were noises coming from an adjacent room in the early hours which woke me up, when I went down for breakfast I was initially met with some heavy metal music which was highly offensive but the worst of it was that in the middle of my breakfast I bit into some bacon which must have had something sharp and caused my lip to bleed. I then was faced with trying to reason with the receptionist to allow me to have some reparation. This took some persuasion. I was NOT impressed.
