Not great value for money especially considering all the little negatives I’ve mentioned. + Location was great, breakfast was great & staff were great . − Our room had a view of the back wall of the national gallery…… and I’m assuming that because of the hotel situation there are no rooms with a pleasant view(which I had requested when booking). It doesn’t seem like a 4* hotel….. bathroom grouting was a little shabby, the magnifying mirror on the bathroom wall was just hanging there and couldn’t be positioned with its light also not working. If you sat on the bed against the headboard the bed would roll away from the wall. We were informed when we arrived that the hotel air conditioning system was not working and an electric fan had been placed in our room…… it was a hot two days and the fan didn’t suffice !!. It seems that on reading reviews when we got home that the air conditioning hadn’t been working for at least two weeks prior to our arrival which we weren’t made aware of…… it …

Excellent location for visits to the theatre and more. Very comfortable rooms, and helpful staff + The hotel is very well situated and is easy access from tube, bus and taxi. The staff were helpful, there was an issue with the room but it was well handled by the ladies on duty. − The air conditioning was not working and the room temperature was quite high, there was a fan in the room which helped. Reception did offer us the chance to move hotels if we wished, but my daughter and I had booked the hotel due to its proximity to the theatre we were attending that evening.

Very disappointing service from the reception staff + The location is excellent, room very clean and breakfast good. − Our air conditioning wasn't working, and the room was exceptionally hot. A fan had been issued but I was particularly disappointed with the way the staff dealt with the problem, and the customer service in general. I had been kept waiting to check in and no apology was issued at any time for this or the fact that the room was so hot - I believe over 35deg. I mentioned to the staff that this service was not what I would expect from Thistle, as I had stayed there and at other hotels and the staff had always been very friendly and helpful. Still no apology. We were issued with a small refund but the lack of customer service was very upsetting. I've emailed Thistle on their requested email but over two weeks have passed and not even an acknowledgement. It just feels as though I've been ignored by the hotel and the group entirely.

Weekend break + Central location. − Room 412 , the left side of bed lamp did not work , found the reason to be that the dedicated socket and associated on/off switch did not work . To make lamp usable, it had to be plugged into a normal socket but as the lamp body did not have an on/ off switch on it , you had to get out of bed to turn it off at the main socket switch . The room only has ceiling lights at the side off the room and would benefit with a Central ceiling light . The fridge , which is located inside the wardrobe barely chills, and the opening side of the fridge means that to try opening the door it catches on the hinges of the wardrobe door..This could be rectified by hanging the fridge door pivot on the opposite side .. On askkng reception desk staff we were told This was supposed to be a projected Accessible room that was later reviewed to not convert . Plenty of room in bedroom but here was only a shower over the bath and normal width doors and n…

Fabulous location. + Love the location. Room was clean. − Bath needs replacing and a general tidy up in there. Plug in sink not very good. No bag in waste paper bin. Small fridge in wardobe but was run ing hot.Air condition not work. Fan supplied not adequate for our needs.
