Incredible 5-star luxury experience! + I’ve stayed at luxury resorts all around the world, and I can honestly say my experience at Roku Kyoto LXR was among the very best. From the time my taxi pulled up, the quality of service was absolutely incredible and thoughtful. The staff has thought of everything possible to make your stay feel luxurious and comfortable. The hotel itself was incredibly beautiful— feels brand new yet captures the charm and elegance of Japanese style architecture. Housekeeping was amazing— even if you don’t request them, they know when you’re at the pool or spa or restaurant and will clean the organize the room while you are gone. The rooms are perfection— all of the modern technology you’d want, with really comfortable beds. The shower (overhead rainfall and wand) and bath tub (onsen style) were spot on. The restaurant and bar delivered a 5-star dining experience and the drinks were top notch. This was easily one the very best hotel experiences I’ve ever had (ar…

Good information please read ! + The hotel is beautiful and the staff is outstanding and kind. The rooms are spacious, clean and the beds are so comfortable! The only few complaints I have are #1 location. It is far away from the train station and shopping f area. About a 30 minute taxi ride. The surrounding neighborhood is all residential so you can not venture out once you get to the hotel. #2 the crowded pool full of children. We wanted to enjoy a quiet time at the pool but it is required to make a reservation for the pool for a 1 hour a lot. Many kids yelling and screaming. #3 breakfast. There is a very small section of foods and on the weekend we had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. Other than that it is a beautiful resort.

Lovely Hotel . Questionable location without Shuttle. No bearby busses or trains + Beautiful property, well staffed . − Outskirts of town. Hotel of this level must have SHUTTLE BUS service into center of town several times per day and offer service to main train station daily. Not having this service would discourage another stay at a beautiful property

Worth a flight to Kyoto from anywhere + This may be my very favorite hotel of all time. And I only say may to allow for the fact that I may be forgetting something. I can’t imagine, forgetting this. From the moment we arrived from the train station to the moment we sadly departed, every detail was thought of and accounted for. The staff are helpful and discreet, responding to every request as though we had simply asked them the time. This is the only unobtrusive turndown service I’ve ever experienced. . From calling taxis to arranging a Kintsugi experience, to deftly navigating a request to help retrieve some items left in a Tokyo hotel room, everything was absolutely seamless. . Bed was huge and comfortable, pajamas and robes lush, toilet, separate from the shower and private, and an in-room onsen built for two. . The pool is warm and mineral-fed, the grounds are breathtaking, and walking distance to Kinkakuji and some delicious sushi. . If I were forced to make a note, it would be …

A Masterpiece of Serenity in Northern Kyoto + ROKU KYOTO is a masterfully planned retreat. I used this stay as a strategic "break" in the middle of a busy Kyoto trip, and it was the perfect decision. Located in the quiet Takagamine area, you feel completely removed from the city's crowds, yet you’re still within a 10-minute stroll of the Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji). The Private Onsen Experience I stayed in a ground-floor room featuring a private garden and onsen. The design is striking—the stone tub and the flow of natural hot spring water provide a level of privacy and relaxation that is hard to find in a standard hotel setting. It turns the room into a personal spa. Winter Wellness The wellness facilities here are top-tier. The outdoor thermal pool is open year-round, and experiencing it during the winter was unforgettable. Watching the snow fall while submerged in the warmth of the natural spring water is a core memory of the trip. The fitness center is equally impressive, off…

Once in a lifetime experience + The room was a masterpiece of minimalist, warm design, with serene views. Waking up to the sound of birdsong instead of city noise was a true luxury. However, the crown jewel of ROKU KYOTO is undoubtedly the thermal pool. It is simply breathtaking. Floating in the warm, onsen-fed water while surrounded by nature was a deeply rejuvenating experience, both during the sunny day and under the stars at night. What truly elevated our stay was the impeccable service. Every staff member was warm, attentive, and intuitive, anticipating our needs without ever being intrusive. The dining experience at TENJIN was also exceptional, featuring exquisite dishes that celebrated local ingredients. If you are looking for a true escape to recharge your mind, body, and soul, look no further. ROKU KYOTO is an unforgettable experience, and we are already planning our return.

Beautiful Hotel with Great Staffs + Roku Kyoto Hotel gave us one of the best hotel-staying experience. The hotel itself is really beautiful, especially at night. Everyone is well trained and warm. We feel good about every moment at the hotel, from check-in process, to Tenjin (the onsite restaurant and bar), the hot spring pool and poolside sauna, the nearby Japanese garden that’s free for hotel guests, and concierge service that made reservations for us at two nearby Japanese restaurants. Kinkaku-ji is within walking distance. It took about 14 minutes one way. Walking there through small roads that only locals take is a serene and authentic Japanese experience. The hotel also offers luggage forwarding service at fairly reasonable rates. The staff even contacted the receiving hotel to make sure our luggage could be properly accepted and kept because our check-in date at that hotel was six days away. At checkout, we were grateful that Victoria happily processed our painstakingly…

A Bridge to Another Kind of Kyoto + Although I have visited Japan on numerous occasions, this was my first time in Kyoto, and thus my first encounter with this particular property. It would perhaps be fair to say that the resort does not place itself in immediate dialogue with the city’s more frequented destinations. For those who may wish to explore Kyoto’s major sites at a more leisurely pace, the journey to and from the resort may require a certain degree of planning, particularly as many of the cultural landmarks tend to close their doors relatively early in the evening. Yet, it is precisely this gentle remove from the city that allows the property to offer something rather distinct. As a place for inner quiet and restoration, it reveals itself to be remarkably composed. The water garden, in particular, serves as its defining signature — its character shifting subtly between day and night, and, when stirred by the wind, creating soft undulations that lend a sense of calm and qui…

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE, RACIST AND NOT PROFESSIONAL! − Worst staying experience considering the price of this hotel. The front desk staff is lack of training and have bad attitude, especially a staff named as Luk. She does NOT have nice attitude nor professional knowledge of their hotel. The laundry we sent to washed, came back like everything messed up together, by which I mean the underwater, socks and clothes were NOT separated in different bags. These are all not qualified as a 5 star hotel with this price. Very unsatisfying experience.
