Excellent service + A very comfortable hotel, we would have loved to stay longer, as we were very happy with our one night stay. The staff's service was spectacular, the food was delicious, and Frank helped us coordinate our luggage so we didn't have to carry it to the train station.

A Wonderful Stay with Exceptional Hospitality! + We had a wonderful stay! The atmosphere was beautiful, the rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, and the balcony overlooking the river was absolutely stunning. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit, especially David, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. This truly seemed like the nicest hotel in the area, and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. Thank you for the outstanding hospitality, we would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Sumac is amazing! 🇵🇪 + We had an amazing stay at Sumac! All the of the staff were incredibly attentive to my family including our three year old. Enrique went above and beyond for us. He helped us out when we had an issue with transportation. The hotel is beautiful and extremely clean. The food is delicious and breakfast and dinner were included. Our Hilton honors status was recognized. This is a great location, as it’s a short walk to the bus up to Machu Picchu. Our room was right next to the river and it was so relaxing to listen to at night. Overall, we had an amazing stay and would highly recommend!

excellent service in handling everything needed on such a complicated trip + Thalia and papla. Enrique these guys at the front desk really helped me navigate through my trip. They made everything so easy and wonderful. I recommend this hotel in this group of people to everyone. They really take care of your first please visit eva at the Spa. She takes care of you like she’s family.

the price is for sure just because of the location ... + tja only positive point is the location − it was the most expensive in our Peru trip and no the best one ...

Hotel and spa + From the moment we walked in to the hotel we were greeted at check-in by Thalia She was so friendly and went above and beyond Paola at the front desk was also very kind and helpful . Enrique was very kind and accommodating Anything we needed, whether it was directions he was your guy We also went to the spa because we had just completed hiking Machu Picchu for three days and we’re sore.Eva was fantastic. We had body wraps, scrubs, and a full body massage. Since we were hiking, we had travel packs with us. The front desk arranged to have the packs at the train station for our way backto Cusco . The entire experience was seamless and a 10 out of 10.

Sumac remains to us a strong recommendation for anyone who is considering it + Location … perfect. At the end of the town on the route to a hike. River next to hotel. Beautiful soothing sound. We had great rooms with views that were spectacular. The service and friendliness of the staff and manager Mr Johnny … was at a level one could not believe … very helpful and down to earth. Carried our bags and came with us to and from station. Amazing town with an experience that is truly unforgettable … Food quality was definitely 5 star and presentation was also 5 star. Advantage over hotels near the “park” is the town experience… a must The town has a Nepal like feeling and vibe. The hotel is similarly decorated. Was a very good comfortable experience with all the luxury amenities

Nice location in the valley + The location is great, just down the street from the center of town with the river rushing by in front of it. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant is nice with good service and the food was good. It's not amazing, but it was very nice for our short stay in Aguas Calientes.

Great stay at the Sumaq Hotel! + My family and I had a fantastic stay at the Sumaq hotel in Aguas Calientes. Our room was amazing with an incredible view of the Urubamba river and the staff were all very welcoming and professional. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and the dinner menu was top notch; the dishes were so beautifully presented I almost didn’t want to eat (the food also tasted amazing). Everyone made our trip memorable and I can’t wait to go back! Shoutout to Antonio at the front desk who checked us in and always checked in with us re: how our stay was going, offering recommendations and tips when asked. Amazing stay and an amazing hotel!

SUMAQ MACHU PICCHU + On my way to Machu Picchu, I stayed in the nearby town at this hotel. Antonious and Frank make all visitors feel at home with their excellent hospitality. This establishment served as home base for my two-day visits to the Citadel. You will not be disappointed staying at this hotel.

Incredible views and great location for Machu Picchu visit + The hotel is really lovely, with amazing river views. The rooms are clean and spacious and the staff was very helpful in coordinating our Machu Picchu visit. The bar had some really cool cocktails downstairs as well, which we really enjoyed. The only downside was the restaurant menu was the same every day and so we had to venture out for new cuisine eventually.

Poor Comms, Failed Transfers, Mid Room needing improvement — More Like Four Star + Positives: Food is good and the spa is good. Staff are friendly — Enrique in particular, the restaurant team, and therapists Eva and Maria in the spa. There are issues though. Now for the important stuff: - All pre-stay communication and reservations go through the Sumaq Lima office, not the Machu Picchu hotel itself. This may be part of why the issues below happened. - Booking the Machu Picchu circuits months in advance was a bad experience. Communication was poor, and the website doesn't explain which circuits are included in each tour, even though circuit maps are readily available online. Because of this confusion, we were booked into Circuit 3A, which includes a difficult mountain hike (like vertical incline where you sign a death waiver) we obviously didn't do — but we still paid extra for the ticket and guide who was booked for that. The next day was Circuit 1A, which includes a different moun…

Outstanding service, but hotel fell short of Five stars + The service and food at Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel were truly exceptional and, unfortunately, were the only aspects of our stay that genuinely felt deserving of its proclaimed “five star luxury property” status. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, friendly, and eager to help. A special thank you to Enrique, who looked after us so well throughout our stay. The restaurant team were also wonderful, and every meal we had was absolutely delicious. The spa was another highlight, with Eva and Maria providing some fantastic massages that we looked forward to each day. Unfortunately, almost everything else was disappointing. The hotel’s infrastructure feels tired and overdue for refurbishment. The décor is dated, the carpets felt old, and the rooms simply did not have the standard or atmosphere you would expect from a luxury five star hotel. The biggest issue was the lack of sound insulation. The windows appear to be made f…

Very nice stay. + This hotel was very nice. Clean, new and right in town but away from the "bustle". A short walk to everything. Staff were excellent. Extended check out fee was unnecessariy over priced.
