Best trip in Mexico for us. + Love the Location. Thought it wouldn’t be as close to the beach but we were pleasantly wrong and had booked and use the Bali beds on the ocean front quite a bit in our two weeks. Two weeks you usually get sick of the food in on place, but we did not. Great restaurants and service, food was one some of the better food we have ever had in Mexico and rivals some other all inclusive a for sure! Some restaurants can be loud especially with drinkers and big groups. The staff are usually very accommodating if you want to sit at a window or outside or just swapping away to a better spot. We loved that we got to know people by name and having them remember and recognize us felt extra special. I can’t say enough about our ambassador and concierge team. They literally have redefined what service is to us and would do anything they could to help make our trip smooth and enjoyable. I would pick The Fives every time + This was our 4th time back, and I love it more & more each time. I came on this trip for my anniversary/birthday/bachelor(ette) party, so it was a 3-in-1 trip for us, a group of 13 people, and it was many people in our group’s first time there, and they all loved it so much that they want to come back! We booked 2 3 bedroom suites and it was so spacious that we could have fit 2 more people in each suite! It was so comfortable. They have some of the best food that I’ve had at an all inclusive resort and the service of all the employees is above and beyond. The cleanliness and room service, the housekeeping, everything is amazing. Such good energy going on in this resort. I would choose this location every time. A Great Vacation! + I had a great experience at the Fives Beach Hotel and Residences. The check-in experience went smooth. I was the guest of an Epic Travelers Member. Staff was very welcoming. They knew my name and remembered it throughout my stay. The room was spotless clean. Water and a large supply of beverages were provided. Plenty of clothing storage space. I was impressed with the housekeeping service. They were in the room several times a day, refreshing the towel/beverage supply, closing blinds in the evening. The grounds were amazing! Fun to walk around the jungle area and fun to see the monkeys and Coati’s. Staff worked hard to keep all the areas looking great. So much to do. A large variety of pools were available, including pools for kids, adults only and club members. Many restaurants offering a large variety of foods. All foods were beautifully prepared and presented. A truly special place for a beautiful relaxing stay + We stayed at the Beachfront for 2 weeks. You will have a hard time finding a more beautiful place to relax. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. The ambassadors delivered a bucket of ice each afternoon as we returned from a day in the sun. We especially enjoyed having a cocktail on our patio before getting ready for dinner. There is live music during the dinner hours that stops by 9 pm so your peace is not disturbed in your room. The restaurant is excellent. We also enjoyed the activities next door at the sister resort The Fives. There are additional restaurants there for variety. It's literally less than 5 minutes away walking or the shuttle. I loved the massages included in our package. My husband and I both had a mani/pedi at the spa. A stay at The Beachfront will not be your usual vacation.

The best resort in the Riviera Maya + As a frequent guest at The Fives Beach Hotel & Residences, I always look forward to returning, and this stay reminded me exactly why we chose this property. The resort is beautifully maintained, the grounds are lush and tropical, and the overall atmosphere is relaxing from the moment you arrive. The suites are spacious, modern, and very comfortable. Unfortunately, my experience has been incredibly frustrating and remains unresolved. At check-in, I was required to pay an additional $1,900 USD, as the hotel claimed they had not received my prior payment. Since returning home, I have sent over 50 emails and provided both bank and credit card statements clearly showing the overpayment. For nearly three months, I have been told repeatedly that the refund was “processed,” yet no funds have been received. Over the past month, my emails have gone unanswered entirely. I have attempted to escalate this matter through multiple levels of management and executive contacts without success. Get it booked!! + My wife and I travelled from Northern Ireland to Manchester and on to 'the Fives' with TUI, staying 10 nights in a suite in Villa 16. We had an amazing holiday in the Fives Beach Resort, Playa del Carmen, Mexico! My review. Pro's • The food - For an all inclusive resort, the food was fantastic. We ate in the buffet 2, 3 times only, taking advantage of the many restaurants. The French Brasserie, Italian, Thai, Lizards - healthy, Natura - Adults only and the Mexican. All cooked fresh to order, packed with flavour and the very best produce. The steaks were awesome, grilled to perfection accompanied with beautiful wines. On reviews, people complain about waiting times. We had an hour wait for the Thai once and a 15 minute wait for the French only in 11 days. March Break 2026 + Travelled to the Fives with my family of 4 (including my 17 yo son and 13 yo daughter) March 12-19, 2026 over Canadian March Break. Resort was at full capacity. We were on a budget so we stayed in a deluxe room. Overall we had a great vacation! Sharing my input as these reviews were very helpful when planning our trip. The pros: The resort grounds are beautiful; well kept and layout is large but easy to navigate once you get your bearings. Back for the 7th time since 2018 + We arrived on Dec. 1 for 11 days at our favourite resort. Since I have covered the amenities in previous reviews, I will devote this one to a few of the staff who made this trip so enjoyable. First of all, I would like to acknowledge Victor, the front desk manager. We have known him since our first visit in 2018 when our daughter was married there. Victor is a kind and friendly man who has helped us many times over the years. He is one of the main reasons we keep returning to the Fives. On this trip, we had 2 ambassadors, Arturo and Mauricio. They worked together to make our stay pleasant and well organized. They helped us with our in room alcohol selections and our dining requests as well as booking the Bali beds that we were able to enjoy at the beach. Family-friendly, beautifully maintained, perfect mix of fun and relaxing + Another great time at the Fives! Traveled as a family of four and enjoyed good food, Bali bed, pool time and ocean time. Resort is beautiful with amazing landscaping and impeccably kept grounds. The staff are friendly and joyful and great with kiddos and the rooms are always fantastic and clean. Food is amazing though some restaurants on the property seem to be poorly managed as far as keeping up with waiting lists and managing expectations for guests. The exception was brasserie - the host Fernanda was always friendly, informative and prompt with managing the waitlist and giving realistic timeframe expectations. Another wonderful with a friend + Recently returned from another incredible trip to the Fives. This time it was a girls only trip with a good friend and was also very short. Once again the Fives did not disappoint. This is the very reason we keep coming back year after year. Great customer service + We went at a very busy time (spring break) with 4 adults and 2 kids, ages 3 and 6. Good: Lots of pools, beautiful infinity beach pool, cool jungle in the center, good food, comfy beds, 3 bedroom condo type setting was perfect for us, and really great customer service (a special call out to Alejandro our server for the beach pool). Not so good: Crowded pools, beach was small, rough and rocky, long waits for restaurants, could hear music entertainment in our room at night, kiddie pool playground was "scary" due to large bucket of water constantly dumping out on it. Tips: Long waits for restaurants so send someone to put name in early, paying for a Bali bed was key for having space at the main pool/beach, there are a couple of restaurants and pools reserved for "members" only (you may get a sales pitch to pay for a membership but we did not), average kid age middle school/high school.

A family trip with memories that will last forever + We had a fun and exciting time, especially with most of our family there, 16 total. The Fives is a big resort with several pools and a beach area full of Bali beds, lounge chairs and several eateries. The restaurants are varied, offering something for everyone’s taste. The employees, whether they be maintenance people, servers or ambassadors are a joy to be with as they are always friendly, smiling and asking what they can do to enhance the experience. The resort is extremely clean, with attention to detail everywhere. First-class all the way!

Paradiso en Mexico + The resort is great! The layout is really spread out with multiple pools, restaurants, bars and shops. The hotel staff do a great job of keeping the grounds nice and manicured. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff are absolutely fantastic to be around and interact with. There’s always something to do with all of the activities that they plan as well. They literally have activities for everyone. I would highly recommend for family’s or groups of friends alike to travel and truly experience what the hotel has to offer. The only drawbacks that I would say about the hotel were the beach area as it was a bit rocky and not the best for kids to play in the water, but that wasn’t why we chose this location anyway. That and the checkout process. Tristan and Angel are the best + I have been here for 1 night and already there have been two members of the staff who have made my short time here truly special. A big shout out to Angel for playing water polo in the pool and to Tristian who, crushed me in giant chess, but made it super fun in the process. 5 stars.
