+ Our third visit to The Farmhouse. This is one of our favorite retreats in the world! Beautiful rooms, surrounds and people. And knowing that our monies spent are used for the local school and people makes the experience so much more rewarding. We love The Farmhouse!

Absolut lohnenswerter Besuch in vielerlei Hinsicht! + Der Auslöser für unseren Besuch war das Smiling Gecko Projekt, welches wir nun noch spannender finden, der Besuch lohnt sich aber nicht nur wegen dem Projekt. Die Zimmer sind sehr grosszügig, die Pools laden zum erholen ein und dank den Fahrrädern, dem Gym und dem Vitaparcours kommen auch sportliche Aktivitäten nicht zu kurz. Kulinarisch wurden wir vom Frühstück bis zum Abendessen verwöhnt (das Finedining ist top!). Weiter waren auch die Führung über die Farm, in der Schule und von Mariya in der Küche Highlights! Zudem hatten wir das Glück, gleich bei der Ankunft ein Konzert von den begabten Gong Talents im the Gong geniessen zu dürfen (Empfehlung: Program vorgängig prüfen) Der Besuch hat uns so gefallen, dass wir kurzerhand unsere Reise etwas angepasst haben, um erneut in das Smiling Gecko Farmhouse zurückzukehren - wir freuen uns jetzt schon wieder!:-) − Nichts, war alles top.

Un endroit + Un lieu chic dans un lieu assez improbable Le dîner gastronomique le premier soir Les 2 piscines et la salle de sport Les produits de la ferme − J’ai réglé une partie en carte bleue et l’autre partie en cash pour avoir un peu de monnaie pour la suite du voyage. Malheureusement, il m’a été remis rendu 2 billets de 20 $ qu’aucun commerçant ou autre hôtel ne veulent prendre à cause d’un marquage au feutre sur le billet :-(

High value - both in lodging, and in morals + The mission of the space is incredible. They fund a school for local children, and wish to expand it into a university. The food is also farm fresh, from farm to table. Try the cuurries - they're divine (as well as the spring rolls!). I enjoyed the adult-only pool, with a bar for virgin cocktals and lounge chairs for naps. − I do wish menus at the restaurant were more available. They do send you a virtual version through your phone, to be fair, but I'm a leave-my-phone-in-the-hotel-room kinda guy. I do also wish the rooms had more natural light. However, this is all trivial. The property is immaculate, and the staff is kind.

Good option around Phnom Penh to relax and support a local community + The social element of this hotel which is a NGO supporting the local community. Beautiful large age heated pool. Interesting Khmer architecture of the bungalows − The fact that young toddlers aren’t allowed at the fine dining restaurant. The restaurant was empty when we were there so it would have been nice to make an exception. Driver was 30mn late to pick us up at our hotel.

+ Large room and terrace, the best swimming pool − In huge bathroom there is toilet in the middle without any partition, so to spend bath rituals was not so comfortable for three of us. I don’t like when housekeeping and room service came barefoot to the room, but such problem all over the country. Very poor English speaking and sad wine list. My 10-year-old child and I were not allowed into a fine dining restaurant for dinner, even though there was only one table occupied, because it was for adults only.

En résumé une bonne conscience achetée à un prix très fort + Bel environnement, chambre, vaste et agréable. − Une ambiance factice dès l’accueil Une musique d’ascenseur diffusée partout. Difficile d’entendre le son des oiseaux. Nous nous attendions à un endroit calme ce n’est pas vraiment le cas, la restauration est ordinaire. Le restaurant pour « tous » manque de chaleur ( éclairage trop fort) Nous avons modérément apprécié la « visite » de la ferme et le discours « bienveillant » qui nous est servi dès l’arrivée Dans cet hôtel l’on se sent complètement en décalage avec le reste du pays, dommage !

Exceeded my expectations + I loved every aspect of this resort. The room was spotless, the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable and the hot water was perfect. The staff provided outstanding customer service, always friendly and attentive. The spa was wonderfully relaxing and Lin is truly the best masseuse! The restaurant served fresh, delicious food, especially the Khmer vegetable curry, which was amazing. I came hoping to enjoy my stay but it far exceeded all my expectations. I would definitely return! − Everything was perfect.

+ Tolles einzigartiges Konzept von einer Schweizer NGO geführt: Komplette Selbstversorgung mit Schule für 500 Schüler und Unterstützung und Arbeitgeber, Ausbildungwerkstätten für die Kambodschanische Bevölkerung aus der näheren Umgebung , Sehr schöne weitläufige Anlage inmitten von Palmen. Gemütliche Kmer-Stil-Bungalows mit riesigem Bad. Highlight ist das Bett (natürlich mit Moskito-Netz) im komplett offen gestalteten Parterre, siehe Bilder. Haben allerdings immer im 1. Stock drinnen geschlafen. Großzügig offen gestaltetes Restaurant, sehr gutes Essen, gutes Frühstücks-Buffet. 2 große Pools, haben überwiegend den Pool am Spa genutzt ...Adults only ;))

+ Le logement, la piscine, le principe − C’est assez isolé. De ce fait vous ne pouvez consommer que dans le complexe. Mais c’est pour une bonne cause. En venant ici il faut en être conscient. Seul vrai bémol, le restaurant (bistro) est bon mais très cher pour les petites quantités servies.
