+ Iconic landmark hotel resort. The pool area is incredible, warm and soft water infinity pool. The room was comfortable, good AC, strong water pressure, quality soap and face cleanser. Bed was comfortable; was able to order extra pillow. The lighting and charging connections can be adjusted while in bed. Highly recommend a car, otherwise you will feel stuck. Your IDP needs to be within 1 year otherwise it expired. I learn the hard way. I’d suggest they offer diet Coca Cola and more refreshments by the pool. Perhaps a bit more of Western approach to sales at the pool.

+ A true oasis in Okinawa. The room was exquisite. The view to die for. The pool was inviting and comfortable. The spa was amazing. While the dining was limited, we did enjoy the grill. Bucket list destination and deserving of a return visit

+ The property is lovely, and the room was fantastic. Great views out to sea. Bed was comfy, but we needed extra pillows. There is two places for dinner, which you had to book. There was one problem when we booked one restaurant, but it was booked at the wrong restaurant. On our last night, the weather was bad, and in the middle of the night there was a alarm going off, and a warning in Japanese. We didnt understand it, and phoned reception which they said it was about high tide, but there's nothing to worry about. It would be good, if we had prior warnings of what may happen.

+ While the property is pleasant, I feel that the price does not fully reflect the value offered. For instance, the minibar is not complimentary, especially the nearest supermarket is a 10-minute drive away. Providing a one-time complimentary minibar would be a thoughtful gesture to make travelers feel more valued.

Honeymoon Ruined by Repeated Failures and Poor Handling + We chose this hotel for our honeymoon because we wanted comfort, relaxation, and a special experience. Sadly, what we got instead was stress, repeated problems, and a management team that refused to take proper responsibility. From the start, housekeeping was inconsistent and poorly explained. We were told that cleaning would alternate between full service and eco-friendly service every other day. In reality, they just stopped doing basic cleaning until we called about it. Even the most basic things — washing our cups, making our bed — were neglected, which has nothing to do with being “eco-friendly.” The situation got worse when our toilet broke, not once, but twice. The first time, I was unwell and forced to deal with maintenance workers in the room. The second time, after returning tired from a long day out, we had to completely repack and move rooms. This was disruptive and stressful, and it directly caused us to miss a d…

+ The hotel is absolutely beautiful, set in stunning gardens. Our room was lovely, with a stunning sea view. We particularly liked the balcony, with day bed and thought the mosquito repellant provided by the hotel was a nice touch. The pool and pool area were stunning. Our challenge was the food. Breakfast was extremely limited in choice: a huge, set Japanese breakfast or a huge set take on a Sicilian breakfast. Our room had a fridge and kitchen counter, but no other equipment to satisfactorily self serve for breakfast. The lunch menu at the cafe was dreadful, both in content and quality. The grill restaurant was good, for dinner, but limited. We didn't try the other restaurant, as believe it was a set Japanese banquet, which we didn't want. It would be good to extend the buggy service to areas outside the resort. Finally, i had a spa treatment, that was excellent.

+ Ill reluctantly 5 star this place. It's very nice, pool is great and not busy, landscaping is great. The only downside is the lack of food options. Its also not very close to other dining options so youll need to cab or uber to restaurants if you dont want to eat at the resort. The spa was also great. Views are great. Sunsets are great. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Fur coat and no knickers + Other reviews have mentioned the beauty of the location, the stylish design of the hotel and it's lush gardens and they are right. The reception area that greets you on arrival has a wow ! factor too, like an upmarket art gallery, with similar hushed tones and smartly dressed staff bustling about. But dont be fooled. This is a bit of a fur coat and no knickers establishment. Few of the staff speak anything but Japanese which given the international clientele, creates problems and frustration on a daily basis. The restaurants are open for short periods and are inflexible if you want anything other than the set menus offered, even at breakfast. Any request for sonething non standard results in hours of negotiations, phone calls and referrals up the chain of command. Stressful. You have to find your own way to the beach, which we did on a daily basis, to avoid the screaming kids at the pool all day long. Hoshinoya prides itself on being a sophisticated Ze…
