A fabulous hotel and ideal location to explore York centre. + My sister and I stayed in a small twin room. It was absolutely perfect for us. Yes it was small but it was clean & cosy and had plenty of room for us. We stayed for 5 days and there was enough storage space for clothes etc. The newly refurbished shower room was fantastic and had complimentary shampoo and shower products. Loved the complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits and mini Prosecco on arrival, a nice touch. Manager and staff are so friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The Yorkshire breakfast was very good and there were plenty of other options to choose from. It is so close to the centre it took less than 5 minutes to walk to York Minister and less than 15 minutes from the train station. When checking out you can leave your luggage in the reception area until you are ready to go home, no extra charge. − Nothing we didn’t like, but would suggest a shelf in the shower to place washing products on.

A convenient, friendly and pleasant place to stay. + Good sized room, comfortable bed, good easy to operate shower, desk and chair. Heating easy to control. Able to leave luggage. Kindly friendly staff. Good breakfast in pleasant room − Towel rail not hot, bathroom not cleaned thoroughly after first night.

The location is central, and the staff is friendly. However, the floors are quite noisy in my room a + The location is central − The floor is noisy, both in my room and in the neighbors’ rooms\. I couldn’t sleep well because I could hear conversations and people using the bathroom\. I find the way breakfast is served inefficient; I waited for 20 minutes\. The stairs are inconvenient when carrying luggage.
