Very Special Place + This resort provides an authentic "forest" experience while at the same time making sure all one's needs are taken care of. Dining is surprisingly good (my husband is a gourmet chef so he should know) as is the service! We couldn't ask for more but got it thanks to the friendliness of the owners. They are ever present and offer great advice (as well as conversation) for a fulfilling experience. We were sincerely sad to leave and hope to return in the future...

+ This is a lovely place, but I can't give it a great review because on the day we checked-in no one was available at the hotel to answer the phone. Answering the phone when you have guest traveling from out of country, and to a very remote location is standard basic custom service. For whatever reason we could not find our email confirmation the day we were scheduled to arrive and we called and called for 5 hours straight on a Saturday between 12noon-5pm and no one answered the phone. Because we were traveling 5 hours by car to an extremely remote location and could not confirm our stay we were forced to book another hotel that night. We finally received an email in the evening from the owner, and we were able to check in the next day, but the owner herself directed her staff not to give us any discount for the inconvenience we experienced trying to check-in to the hotel. Fantastic Stay in the Beautiful Rainforest + - Excellent location within the Corcovado Biological Corridor - Incredible wildlife and lush vegetation - Very comfortable accommodations with a nice terrace - Great pool with dragonflies flying around - Fresh, healthy food with lots of veggie options - The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful (Carol, Joselito, Roger were fantastic, but honestly everyone was great) - Amazing night hikes (Rinaldo is the best guide and knows every little insect!) - Very flexible and accommodating with anything you need − - Some construction and renovation work going on - The suspension bridge was under maintenance - Quite a bit of noise from the kitchen in the morning, starting as early as 5am

Our hearts filled with peace! + The staff is very kind and does all they can to help you and meet your needs. The guides are very professional and we learned a lot from Eli and Mario. The food is excellent, great choices on the menu! The prices of the drinks are very honest. The location for us was stunning! If you love nature, wanting to disconnect and appreciate the jungle wildlife this is THE place to be! We saw squirrel monkeys, howler monkeys and spider monkeys from our villa! The beach is very wild and waves can be very strong but it's mesmerising to sit alone and watch the power of the ocean. One morning we saw whales pass by, it was magical!!

Exceptional + Knowledgeable guides led us to great wildlife sightings - sloth, anteater, 3 kinds of monkeys, agouti, coati, and so many beautiful birds. All staff members are friendly and efficient. 7 out of 5 stars! + Wow - I had a 7 out of 5 star experience! El Remanso really matches the epitome of luxury lodges anywhere in the world, such as the top properties operated by Oberoi or Taj. Where do I begin... I was wowed by the stylishness and comfort of my room (more below), loved the pool, and fell in love with the setting deep in the rainforest, seeing and hearing the Pacific Ocean in the background, and experiencing the fauna and flora in daily walks. Yet the two most outstanding features were the people and the food. I learned in the introduction of the hotel in the in-room hotel guide that it is a local family business hiring only locals from the Osa península. They wrote apologetically that everyone studies hard but that as they constantly train up new employees, too, one should excuse any imperfection. The experience, however, was the best I've ever had. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations. The entire staff, Rinaldo, Dari, and Rosa, were all truly exceptional. They were warm, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. Our tour guides, Eliezer, Roy, Tony, and Ronald, were equally impressive: knowledgeable, passionate, and eager to share their love for the rainforest and for the Osa Peninsula. The lodge itself is spectacular, nestled between lush forest and a pristine beach—there’s hardly any reason to leave. We stayed in a bungalow with breathtaking views of both the sea and the forest. Unspoilt rainforest wilderness + The unspoilt remote location. It was small and quiet, only 14 rooms. Excellent staff, in particular restaurant staff remembered names and drink choices. All staff went out their way to ensure you were ok and provided top class and personalised experience. A manager made a point of chatting to each guest daily to check if they were ok. There were a variety of trips and guided walks included in the package with knowledgeable and accommodating guides who were more than happy to tailor the trip to your requirements. Easy access to wildlife and rainforest surrounding the property. Private terrace overlooking the tree canopy. Excellent quality food. Full board included. The food was fabulous, fresh quality ingredients that were well prepared and beautifully presented. The lodge itself is crafted from gorgeous materials and they take their sustainability seriously. Add in oodles of rainforest, a gorgeous beach and top guides and it really is perfection − I loved every aspect of- can’t think of any improvements let alone faults

sehr zu empfehlen für Naturliebhaber + Super Lage im Regenwald. Das Resort ist so groß, dass man bereits auf dem Gelände kleine Wanderungen (mit oder ohne Führer) durch den Regenwald zu den Wasserfällen, zum Strand oder zur Vogelbeobachtung machen kann. Es werden geführte Touren angeboten. Die Guides sind sehr gut! Auch das Essen war super! Sehr zu empfehlen ist die Abholung mit dem Hotel-Shuttle vom Flughafen Puerto Jiménez. Die Anfahrt mit eigenem PKW erfordert unbedingt Allrad-Antrieb. − da gibt es nichts, was mir nicht gefallen hat.

Good but for the service overpriced + The design,location was great. The restaurant staff was very friendly and efficient. Karol and Enriqe were amazing. The rooms were huge . − Housekeeping needs attention. The turndown service -was not up to scratch . They never removed the flasks from early morning and afternoon coffee, dirty cups were not cleaned nor the dirty wineglasses taken away. Not once did they freshen up the towels on the loungers. The towel rail was loose -husband mentioned it no response until he took a maintenance person to the room himself. The water as of the 2nd day was lukewarm-mentioned it to reception but nothing was done. Unfortunately on the last morning I could not wash my hair-. Told the manager on duty Ronald , he took notes . But after breakfast when us leaving . He just nodded and unfortunately no goodbye-safe travels etc . Same is for the receptionist . Nothing. That was unprofessional.

Perfect paradise! + Absolute paradise! Our villa was so perfectly nestled into the jungle that there was no trace of the resort to be seen. The service was so loving and from the heart that it felt like being spoiled by family. Every meal was a delight, with the only challenge being the choice between so many tempting options, including the standout breakfast. Every nature walk brought new surprises from animals and plants you discover with the help of the knowledgeable guides, and activities such as the waterfall abseiling add athletic adventures. Just perfect! − It was truly sad to have to check out again... :(

Probably the best holiday, hotel and staff experimenting + All the meals were amazing. All included. Fresh and beautifully cooked original menu. Best food we had in the whole of CR. Perfektion und Abenteuer + Frühstück uns Abendessen konnten wir auswählen - es war immer ausgezeichnet ! Das Personal ist immer gut gelaunt und absolut aufmerksam . Jeden Tag oder auch zur Nacht wurden verschiedene ( inklusive ! ) Touren angeboten .Die Guides waren immer aufmerksam und wir haben so viele Tiere gesehen . Es gibt ein neues Schildkrötenprojekt zur Erhaltung der Art - wir durften die neu geschlüpften kurz anschauen! Alle sind sehr nett und wir fühlten uns immer sicher . Highlight : die Zimmer ohne Fensterglas aber mit Gaze - Regenwaldfeeling auch nachts - Weckruf durch die Brüllaffen eine neue Erfahrung , die uns noch lange in toller Erinnerung bleiben wird . Aras fliegen im Resort umher und Nasenbären bummeln über die Wege. Ein rundum perfektes Erlebnis ! Absolut empfehlenswert!
