OVERCHARGED at the Holiday Inn, BEWARE + OVERCHARGED IN BAR, MANAGER DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW. I went to the bar at this holiday inn in Lincoln on Saturday 22nd Aug 26. I took my wife, daughter and her partner for a drink. On entering the bar at 10.50 pm , it appeared that the bar was closed. There were approximately 15-18 people at the bar complaining that it should remain open. Finally, two more staff arrived and began serving. I asked for a gin and tonic, two red wines and a pint of lager. The bill was £47 !!! I was so shocked, I handed over my card and paid. At checkout in the morning, I asked to see the manager. When I told (Manager, Charlie) about my experience, she was completely unsympathetic and stated ," the prices are there to be seen", and refused any refund. I went and checked the bar tariff and found I had been overcharged by approximately £17. I returned to reception again to explain this. "Charlie" wasn't interested and again refused a refund. Poor room + A very poor room. The photo of the room is taken on a bright sunny day. It’s the darkest room I’ve ever stayed in. The walls have numerous marks including what would appear to be a previous flood from above. The plug photographed is actually really dangerous. The smart tv will not work with the hotel WiFi, and when we mentioned it , reception told us there are no smart TVs in the hotel ( see the photo !) It was our first time at this hotel but are regular visitors to Lincoln. Sadly we won’t return to this hotel.

Pathetic + Location only − Location was good and that’s it. I complained for Liquid soap and got it after 03 x days. No cleaning was done except making the bed. Making the bed means same bedsheets for entire stay even if you spilled something by mistake. Cleaning was not done at all, all the wrappers stays on the carpet, no washing or replacement for the used coffee cups. No bedside Electrical sockets., plugged Power extension all the way from one wall to the bedside to charge mobile/watches. I’ll certainly not advise any of my colleagues going to Lincoln to book that hotel.

I would say this hotel is definitely a three star and that’s fine if that’s what you expect, but I whilst a little disap + The location is great great breakfast and the dining staff were very helpful . − Some parts look a little tired for a four star hotel The bedrooms have no drawers which I found unusual and no telephones if we needed any assistance. The reception staff, although efficient didn’t seem very friendly and smiley which I would expect.

Comfortable and friendly atmosphere with clean and tidy facilities + Very convenient and welcoming to all INCLUDING our 4 legged friends − I didn’t like the smoking at the door outside the hotel. Must be designated area for smoking.
