No AC in September + I am loyal to this string of hotels but this one misses the mark. It may be beautiful but it has a heating and cooling nightmare. Atrium cool in morning and darned hot in the afternoon. The AC was not functioning in our room. I will call it fake AC. The fan ran but just circulated warm air. It never got below 25 degrees C. The breakfast buffet was average but if it opened at 6:30, it was not ready to serve at 6:30. If I would return to this area again I would explore other hotel options.

Room was HOT!! AC never cooled the room! + We went in Sept and our room faced the West. Our room was always HOT! Eventually we had the front desk send us a portable AC unit. That helped!! Good thing we brought fans! The breakfast buffet was ok. The bacon was really bacon and not some mysterious meat. They need to learn how to keep their food hot. Pancakes sat under a heat light but it was on a cold surface. The hotel is beautiful but the atrium is one big open area. It was either hot or cold! To my surprise there was not a place to take any pics of the area. They showed a bar on their website that looked like a great PIC but that was no longer available. Since it was a holiday, people were camping in the open area in front of the hotel property which seemed very odd. For a IHG loyal member, this hotel DID NOT rank as well as other IHG properties. There is room for improvement.

Much too big to get around. + This is an impressive hotel to look at but not so good to stay there. It is far too vast and takes ages to walk anywhere. This is not good, due to lack of oxygen, because of the altitude. The pillows are so uncomfortable, we mentioned this and were sent pillows of buckwheat, which were lumpy and hard. It was like having a heavy sack of grain, on the bed. We had to use the cushions, from the settee, but even these were not ideal. There was supposed to be oxygen in the room. Ours did not work. They sent someone up to look but nothing was fixed. We had to have cylinder oxygen, at an extra cost. The dining room is in their garden, so it was freezing cold, in the mornings, for breakfast. I dread to think what it would be like in the depth of winter. Needless to say, any hot food was cold by the time it got to the table. Not appetising, at all. I couldn't recommend this hotel, even though it is supposed to be the best in Lhasa.

Incredible Christmas experience + Thank you to all of the amazing staff at Lhasa InterContinental. The hotel is the best InterContinental hotel we have ever stayed at. We highly recommend the hotel for your stay in Lhasa. A paradise in Tibet

The most disappointing stay and poor service at an international hotel brand + We stayed at Intercontinental Lhasa Paradise for one night on 2 October. Initially we had pretty high expectation as this is an international hotel brand and we stayed there once, but it proved us wrong. We checked in at the reception at around 2:50pm and the receptionist offered us to just leave our luggages at the place where they were (which was right in front of the reception table and where guests would line up there for check-in and check-out) and said he would request a bell-boy to send our luggages (3 in total) to our room. We then left our luggages, and looked at the receptionist and asked if he was really sure that we could just leave our luggages there. He reassured us, so we headed to our room for freshening up. When we got to the hotel room, we found that there were no slippers. We called concierge for two pairs of slippers. Concierge replied saying that it was impossible for the slippers …

Great facilities and services + This hotel was designed with classic Tibet castle. The lobby was impressive. I received a room upgrade to an executive room which was luxurious and comfortable by oxygen supply in 24 hours. Thanks to the attentive arrangement from guest relation manager Molly . Breakfast buffet with great services provided a variety of local and western cuisines.

May not stay again + We stayed in the Intercontinental Lhasa during the May Day holidays. The hotel is large and the rooms are big and comfortable. This hotel caters mainly to large local tour groups. The service too is oriented towards large local tour groups. The check-in, because we were foreigners, took time. The walk to the room is long, made difficult, because of the thick carpets, which make rolling your luggage a real effort. There is no room service menu in the rooms. So ordering room service involves calling room service, asking then to send someone with a menu. We QR code (微信) does not work. The location of the hotel is away from the main city and away from the attractions.

Terrible location, smoky room, no temperature control, too hot. + You’d think you just entered an airport terminal. The entrance is cold and impersonal, way too big with no clear indication of where the reception is. Of course, no one speaks English. Not that big of a deal, but I’ve never stayed at an intercontinental without English speaking staff. To get to my room, i finished my steps for the day, probably 1km 🤣. The room smelled like smoke and sewage. Not fun when the temperature was also way too hot and there was no way to control the thermostat. Did I mention how far out of town this place is? Ugh, it took over an hour to get to from the train station. If you’re here for pleasure, do not stay here, you will regret it. Not sure how they have the rating they do. Must be staff ratings.

Very nice hotel + Hotel is marvelous, receptionists are warm hearted, room is clean and comfortable, staff joyful, nature is beautiful,the hotel is very neat and the meals are yummy and fantastic We enjoyed it a lot and it is what it says ,,paradise” we recommend it if you go to Tibet and Tibetan culture is interesting Tibetan people are very friendly❤️❤️👍👍😍😍🥰🥰

The most luxurious hotel in Lhasa! + This hotel is amazing. It is extremely beautiful, comfortable, accommodating and luxurious. I would not stay anywhere else in Lhasa. It totally exceeded my expectations. The size of the room is much bigger than an average hotel room. The bathroom is also very clean and spacious. The staff is welcoming and is ready to fulfill your every wish. The best stay ever!

Very good + The staff were very welcoming and kind and I was upgraded upon arrival as I was visibly unwell and had to wait some time while a tour group checked in. The room was exceptional. − The location was problematic you would need to get a taxi approx 20-30 minutes to get to the main tourism areas of Lhasa. I stayed on my last evening and didn’t need to go into town so this didn’t impact me and I was able to enjoy the hotel. The buffet could incorporate some more vegetarian options.
