CARE AND RESPECTFUL SERVICE + The Horizon Executive Lounge at Shangri-La Nanchang is a perfect and welcoming place for an evening. Ms. Tina Luo possesses the ability to provide personalized service to guests. What amazed me the most about her was her willingness to assist me as soon as I entered Shangri-La Nanchang. She is highly responsible in handling our requests and proactively strives to fulfil them by providing us with a room overseeing a great view with well-organized amenities. She went the extra mile to check the room's condition, solicited detailed feedback, and made every effort to promptly improve the situation. Ms. Jane Zhang, the lounge executive, exhibits great passion for her work in the lounge. She is proactive and responsive to guests' needs and excels active listening to all requests. Disappointing Shangri-La Nanchang + My first trip to Nanchang, so I booked what I expected to be good - the Shangri-La. The hotel is located in the New Area on the west side of Gan Jiang River, directly at the banks. The room was as expected, spacious and clean with a comfortable bed, just as I am used to from Shangri-La. Hotel services, however, may be good only for Chinese visitors. Hardly any employee speaks English, so it is difficult to order something for breakfast or in the Lobby Lounge. Breakfast variety and quality is not as good as e.g. in the two Shangri-La hotels in Shanghai; one morning the egg station was not even manned. The hotel does not have a bar, and English TV channels are not available, the only option after dinner is work.

Nice view for a luxurious retreat + The hotel is located near the Ganjiang river. It is also close to the Nanchang west train station and all new district. The view is super nice in the club lounge. The lobby bar is also good for afternoon tea. PS，感谢失物招领的柚子Amanda ，她很快就联系我，把我遗失的东西邮寄啦。

very bad + The experience is very bad. I need extra drinking water. I was told by the waiter that only two more bottles of free water can be provided every day, and there is an extra charge for that! The first time I met such a hotel, do I need to buy it alone if I want to drink water in a hotel? Has the hotel been so economical? Employees help the hotel save costs like this??

An excellent five star hotel in central Nanchang + Exactly what you would expect. A first class international hotel in the middle of Nanchang. The room was great, breakfast and the restaurant were excellent and the very large atrium gave space for relaxing or taking a coffee or beer. Good value at $100

Solid place. + Excellent hotel, as good or better than 4+ stars in major American cities. Staff speaks some English and assists with inquiries and deliveries. Very nice gym and pool. Would stay if you’re a westerner in Nanchang for business or pleasure. Also, the neighborhood is new and nice but not close to the old city so if you want a more authentic experience you may consider something less western.
