Maiden Trip to China, Dalian + It was our maiden trip to China and our very first to Dalian as well. We were very impressed with the level of Grand Hyatt Dalian services and efficiencies they demonstrated for check in/out processes, room and meal services they had rendered during our stay of 4 days and 3 nights. We had previously travelled to other countries and stayed in comparable hotels or resorts in Dubai, Holland, Belgium, Taiwan, Hongkong, Macau, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei and we can confidently conclude they were on par if not better. As our maiden trip, we were greeted with friendly smiles and helpful tips how to get around the city of Dalian and where to get good foods, site seeing and shopping etc. by their front line staffs. Breakfast is bad, rude front desk stuffs + Hotel is still in good condition, but the service is bad. Front desk stuffs are very impatient and rude, breakfast foods taste bad, not much variety of foods as well, but charged 140 rmb per person, that is worse breakfast I ever had in China for my entire trip, I stayed in this hotel before, was better than this, will not stay here again for sure

Extremely Disappointed with Service and Security at Grand Hyatt Dalian + I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent stay at the Grand Hyatt Dalian. As a guest at a five-star hotel, I had certain expectations for service quality and professionalism, but unfortunately, my experience fell far short. Upon arrival, I found the front desk staff to be unfriendly and unprofessional. Their responses to basic inquiries lacked courtesy and competence, resembling the behavior of untrained interns rather than experienced hospitality professionals. Despite clearly requesting a non-smoking room, I was assigned a smoking room, which is a basic and unacceptable oversight. In addition, the staff at the swimming pool reception, as well as the restaurant service team, were noticeably unwelcoming and inattentive, which further diminished the quality of my stay. Great hotel and will come back + Great hotel with great location, great concierge and staffs. The ocean view room has a killer view. Everyone is so nice and friendly. The breakfast offers food that we ate every morning back in school - nothing fancy but good food safety. The dinner restaurant in the hotel is just okay, but right next door is one of the best restaurants in Dalian (Xi Ding). Easy to get didi.

Dalian, the surprise city! + Amazing location with a great lounge, friendly, helpful staff, and managers. Breakfast is delicious and enjoyable. Rooms at every comfortable. Make sure you try and get a bridge view room. Gorgeous light show at night. The Tacos in the bar (42nd floor) are spicy and delicious!

Our room was modern, spacious, and impeccably clean, with a stunning view of the Yellow Sea and the Changhai Cross-Sea Bridge. The hotel is perfectly situated, just steps away from Xinghai Park, Binhai Road, and the Dalian Xinghai Aquarium, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.

Choosing to stay at the Grand Hyatt Dalian for our anniversary was an excellent decision. Among the hotels in Dalian, we have experienced the Four Seasons, Conrad, Hilton, InterContinental, and The Castle Hotel. However, considering the front desk, concierge, housekeeping, food and beverage, Club Lounge, room quality, and room views, the Grand Hyatt Dalian was absolutely the best. We plan to visit Dalian again and will definitely be staying at the Grand Hyatt Dalian.

The room automation/technology. attention to detail to basic conveniences...all cant be described, need to be experienced to appreciate. Infact the giant window and breathtaking view itself is worth it. − The post 10pm room service situation needs to be re-looked at. Issues no menu for post 10pm menu Cant order thru Hotel room phone a person comes in holding electronic menu for you to be able to make an order. Some improvement can be achieved. + I booked this property because it is the only Hyatt property in Dalian, was original booking 2 room and 3 night for family vacation, but little one was sick suddenly so we have to cancel the trip and I am the only person staying one night, hotel is very responsive in making my reservation change to just one night. The overall check in experience is not so clear upon my arrival, I am globalist, and all the other Hyatt hotels always check for room upgrade for me when I arrive, but this hotel does not mention any of the upgrade eligibility when I check (I.e. did not even say “sorry we don’t have any availability to upgrade…..” etc) so they just assign me to the room I booked, which I think it will be good lot at least tell me whether try to upgrade me or not. I do think they honor me the free breakfast and lounge access, but the front desk did not explicitly mentioned that as well, the front desk only told me when and where the breakfast and lounge ser…

Not good for globalists + I have a family vacation to Dalian coming up. I heard good things about this hotel so wanted to come as a globalist. I had massive service failures. I spent months looking at dates to see if I could book a standard suite with a suite upgrade award. But here's the main thing. I could never find a date, even to December when few people go to Dalian. I called my Hyatt concierge who also couldn't find a date. Frustrated, I called the hotel directly. The duty manager told me all standard suites are under maintenance. She seemed evasive when she said this. The next day a more senior executive called me and told me that they never put the standard suites on sales on the Hyatt app or on ctrip. They only sell in direct bookings or long term guests. To me, this is breaking the World of Hyatt program rules. This hotel is not exempted from accepting suite night upgrade rewards like some hotels like Park Hyatt Sydney or Alila Napa are exempted.
