+ Thought it strange to take down bedding and remote with check out, specially when you are already trying to manage suitcases. But the place was clean and quite, bed very hard.

+ Friendly and helpful front staff, cleaning ladies and security. But only changed towels every 3 days, I stayed 6 days so only changed towels once. Don’t expect high level of cleanliness or comfort.

Very Interesting Experience + It's historical residential estate, now reactivated for hostile. I had staycation here for 3 nights. The rooms, as expected, are basic. I am satisfied as it's clean, well illuminated, and ventilated. During my stay, the weather was extremely hot and sunny but the air conditioner worked perfectly. My room had no views but a slope. There's a cafe in the restaurant for simple breakfast and lunch. I didn't try. Some cheap eateries after 5-10 mins walk. Need walking over 10 mins to the nearest MTR station, either Shamshuipo or Mei Foo. I explored the neighborhood which is very old with blocks of public housing and poor people. It's fun for me. I stayed as a local. There's a small hill called "Garden Hill" next to this place. There's a staircase besides it which leads you up to the hill top where one can overview the city. Good for day and night scenes. Not that difficult to climb. Overall an interesting experience for 2 or 3 nights.

+ Clean ;) and accessible to the local shops 👌 which is nice. Thank you.

+ Staff are helpful. Towels are only changed once every 3 days - too infrequent. One had to pick up all sorts of smells from the MTR station to the hotel. While most are outside of your control, I think you can do something about the urine smell outside the front wall along Beswick Street at night.

+ Stayed a night here, a lovely old building converted to hotel, recalls a lot of memories as I was brought up in a similar apartment when I was young. The only problem is the walk in shower's drainage is not very good

Unpleasant Experience EVER + Thinking about staying at this Hong Kong hostel? My recent experience might change your mind: 1.This place is crazy loud. The rooms don't block any noise, especially when the cleaning staff starts moving furniture early in the morning. And they don't care if it bothers you. 2.Picture this: it's midnight, and your neighbors are rearranging furniture. I called the staff four times, hoping they'd fix it. Spoiler: they never showed up. It was super frustrating. 3.Stayed for four days, and they only changed my towel once. Not great on the cleanliness front. 4.Don't get a room near the staff or storage area; it's as noisy as a construction site. 5.The front desk staff is unprofessional and not helpful. They're like they never learned about customer service. 6.It's not cheap, but the service is bad. You might as well spend a bit more on a hotel where you won't feel like you're on a badly managed school trip. 7.The noise is non-stop, so forget about sleepin…

Excellent location and big room + We have stayed in this hostel several times already. It‘s location is great as it is not far away from two MTR stations. The room (double bed with private shower and toilet) is very large in Hong Kong accommodation standard. We could open two big suitcases and still have room to walk around. Consider the price. There are many local restaurants nearby and markets. A great spot to explore Hong Kong. The hostel building was a public housing block built in the 1950s. There is a very well made museum (free of charge ) on the ground floor to explain the history of the public housing development in Hong Kong. It is worth spending time to visit it when you stay in the hostel as a starting point to understand Hong Kong. Recommended for those who are in budget as there are also dormitories (8-bed with two shared shower & toilet ) . The common area is big and are free to use of course.

VALUE FOR MONEY AND GREAT LOCATION + Location is good to explore hongkong by metro , shim shui po is the closest metro station at a walking distance . Ensuite rooms are spacious and clean in a different wing . Breakfast is fixed with bread , eggs and zuzu tea but it is enjoyable and provided only if you book through HIHOSTELS website as a youth hostel life member . For other meals there are sufficient eateries in the neighbourhood . Most metro stations have enough eating outlets for lunch on the go . Parking available and it is value for money in otherwise so so expensive Hongkong . Use Uber for cabs which is easily available

Worst + My husband and I booked this hotel for 8 nights on trip.com. Hong Kong was one of the cities where we planned to spend our honeymoon. When booking, we selected the option for a separate room for 2 people, and in fine print, it stated that there were options for rooms with two separate beds or one king-size bed. When we received the room key, we found that we were given a room with two separate beds. For our honeymoon. My husband and I approached the reception twice and asked to change the room, speaking with the hotel manager, but we were refused. The hotel did not offer any solutions. We asked if there was a possibility to move us to another room when a room with a double bed became available, but we were told that they could not help us. The beds themselves are very hard and absolutely uncomfortable. I highly do not recommend this hotel due to its terrible customer orientation. Book anywhere but here.

Absolutely outrageous + Absolutely outrageous. We booked a room and realized within seconds that we had selected the wrong date. We contacted the hotel immediately — literally right after booking — to correct this simple mistake and rebook for the proper time. They never responded. As a result, we’ve now unnecessarily lost €500 over what was clearly an honest error that we tried to fix instantly. This is not just disappointing — it feels completely unreasonable and frankly unacceptable from a hotel that claims to care about its guests. We were fully willing to rebook and actually stay there. Instead, we were ignored and left paying the price. Extremely frustrating and a very poor customer experience.
