− I booked a room with 2 beds and was given a 1 bedroom when I arrived.

Room Flooded at 1am, No refund, Overpriced and run down. − Our room was not ready at 3pm upon arrival. We waited an additional 30min to get in to our room and then when we did get in, the room had a king bed instead of 2 full size beds which is what I booked. The front desk offered a small refund to accomodate for this which was very kind and much appreciated. Then upon arrival back to the hotel at 1am -- we found our room flooded with 2in of standing water surrounding the entire bed. When I inquired with the front desk they told us they were unable to move us due to the hotel being at capacity. They refused to give me a refund for the room which I was furious about. The front desk agent told me she had not service people on call that night to help so we were just SOL but was nice enough to give me a stack of towels. Beware booking a budget hotel in NYC. Convenient location and had our room not flooded and I had been given a refund I would have given this 3.5/5 stars.

fabulous!!! I really enjoyed the place, the people and the neighborhood . + we were there for for a poetry event that I was featured in on the lower east side. We were driving one of the facilitators into the city from upstate so they wouldn't have to drive and park and transport all their equipment in the city. When we booked the room the location was perfect. When we opened the draped our jaws dropped. The view of the NYC skyline from our room was completely spectacular. The room wasn't big but was laid out very well so we could put all our stuff away and not feel cramped. We then moved to my niece's in Astoria for three days. Then the last night we came back so we would be ready to pick up our friends. We really were wowed by price, location, and the spectacular view. Worth it .
