+ This hotel is amazing, the only issue I had was with the hours for the gym. It didn’t open until 9am and from at 2pm till 5pm, then closed again at 9pm. While I understand the need to keep things quiet for other guests, it wasn't conducive for traveling. No early morning workout before breakfast.

+ We stayed 15 days at the hotel, a nice stay. The room is small and I like it brighter, especially the bathroom, otherwise nice view, good service, a good restaurant and has a pool and sun deck. Nikos from the reception who is professional and super helpful makes up for all the short comings of the hotel.

Enjoyable stay in Chania + Best choice to stay in this beautiful resort with breathtaking view, day and night. Excellent staff service, great breathtaking, good breakfast, free shuttle to the city and free usage of the washer and dryer. Highly recommended.

Crete wedding stay + I stayed here for 5 nights as I was attending a wedding nearby and I really enjoyed my visit. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff and extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet is delicious, there’s a huge selection every morning. There’s also a great shuttle bus service into the town nearby which goes regularly. I will definitely be back!

Tranquil + We visited the Royal Sun in May and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As many have already said, this lovely hotel belies its 3-Star rating. We stayed in a ground floor ‘deluxe suite’ and it perfectly met our requirements; 2 bedrooms (one of which immediately became a ‘dressing room’), a comfortable bed, a well appointed shower/bathroom and a shaded terrace with direct access to the pool. The stand-out feature of the Royal Sun, for us, is the tranquility. The restaurant was never ‘busy’, there was never any rush for sun-beds in the morning - we were often the only people by the pool - the pool bar service was efficient and the whole area was kept immaculately clean and tidy by the hard-working groundsmen. The regular complimentary shuttle service means that guests have the best of both worlds; the view and peace provided by the elevated location AND quick and easy access to Chania Old Town centre. Thanks for the warm welcome, and all the help with restaurants, bookings, suggestions, 100% availability always smiling. You really are 5 Star Hotel levels, no doubts!!! Please say thanks to the patient driver of the shuttle. A big thank you to Giorgia and Vasiliki for the breakfast, and to Maria who I had the pleasure to meet last night. I had a quick dinner, but it was excellent!! When back in Chania, no doubts about the hotel!!!

+ Stayed at Royal sun in June 2025 this is our 10 th visit can’t seem to stay away, wonderful friendly staff. The accommodation is very clean, rooms made up daily, food in hotel is excellent and free shuttle bus to take you to harbour if you don’t wish to eat in. Will be back again next

Wonderful 5 day stay + Just back from a wonderful 5 days stay at the Royal Sun Hotel. As others have said this hotel is definitely more than 3 stars. The reception staff, in particular Maria & Emma, were super helpful, finding and booking us the perfect sunset boat cruise when all others were fully booked online and always checking in with how our day had been. We had a sea view room which was spacious with a huge, comfy bed and the sun lounger on the balcony was a great extra touch. The pool area was never overly busy and we were always able to get a lounger any time of day. The location was a little further out of town than we anticipated so the free shuttle is definitely worth booking (it gets busy in the evenings so make sure to book your timeslot ahead at reception) we walked back from the centre of Chania a few times and whilst doable it was definitely a workout especially in the heat! + Our stay at the Royal Sun Hotel was perfect. The room with the sea view and balcony was of a high standard, clean and comfortable. The Hill restaurant, where we ate breakfast each day, had a stunning view overlooking the old port and the sea, and was a delight to sit at each morning. The breakfast choice and quality was probably the best we’ve ever experienced. The pool was great with that brilliant view and plenty of chairs and sunbeds to choose from. All the staff were so friendly and good natured it made the stay perfect. The reception staff were always happy, willing to help, full of information and again probably the best we’ve come across. The hotel provides a shuttle mini bus to transport the guests to and from the town of Chania. We definitely recommend the Royal Sun Hotel if you are visiting Chania.

City views + A extremely clean rooms, beautiful views, upgrade to city view was definitely worth it. The hotel is too far to walk to town if that’s something that’s important for you probably choose elsewhere. However the shuttle busses are very easy and reliable. We used them every evening

Royal Sun was the reason to enjoy our holidays! + Royal Sun gave us the opportunity to have an amazing vacay experience in Chania..what to start from? The location..the breakfast..the restaurant in the roof the views from everywhere you spotted..the hospitality from all the people there from reception to the restaurant..all were so nice This hotel it’s called three star but its a 4star!! Thank you and when we visit again Chania for sure this is our hotel!!

Best value in Chania + After a long flight from Oz, check-in was seamless—straight to our room with no paperwork or credit cards required, which we really appreciated. Our room offered a stunning view over the pool, Chania, and the sea, with unforgettable sunrises and sunsets. The room itself was well appointed, spotless, and housekeeping was consistently excellent. Breakfast was good value with plenty of choice, though the options were similar each day. The pool area was perfect for a relaxing day, with convenient food and drink service. The front desk staff were extremely helpful in arranging travel and offering local advice, and the daily shuttle bus to Chania was reliable and easy to use. Dinner and drinks at "The Hill" restaurant were great. Service, drinks and food were all of a high standard. Book for weekends as it does get busy. Overall, the staff were professional, well trained, and genuinely friendly, making the whole stay feel smooth and very well run.

Beautiful Hotel + Beautiful hotel! Spotless clean, gorgeous pool, great breakfast, amazing staff, we will definitely be back! This was our 2nd time at Royal Sun, would highly recommend. Only drawback bedrooms are a bit small.

+ I’m reluctant to leave a fabulous review as everyone will want to go there! It was our 4th visit to the hotel & it never fails to deliver on excellence, the staff are amazingly friendly & professional, nothing is too much trouble for them. The food in the restaurant is superb & the views over to the ocean are stunning, the nightly sunsets are priceless, love it there.

Very nice hotel, clean, with big rooms. + Very nice hotel, clean, with big rooms. Room service is great, every day they refill our coffees. We can ask them to refill our water containers, thus saving plastic bottles. The staff is amazing, always smiling and nice. It has a huge pool overooking Chania town and a nice gym. We couldn't use the pool, as it was winter, but the gym we liked a lot. You better have a car to move around, but they also have a free shuttle to and from the city. Also they offer free laundly service.
