A very nice place to stay right in the middle of Kakadu. + Big rooms, lovely garden & pool. Enjoyed the art gallery and food was very good. − It is a bit old here & there

+ Friendly helpful staff Conveniently positioned for Kakadu activities. − The rooms are looking a bit tired and it’s time for renovation. Stained shelves, Formica peeling.

Comfortable place to base ourselves while we explored the area - thank you 😊 + Rooms were well set out. Bed comfortable - enjoyed having the air con with a humidifier Lots of shade and lounges around the pool great to relax around the pool after a day of croc spotting and walking and rock art − Needed more options for evening meal. - didn’t want to eat a set priced buffet- too much money unless you feel like a large meal. Loved the restaurant menu but too limited and no vegetarian options which was very surprising- I wanted more choices. But the food was delicious

+ Basic facilities. Food was decent but a bit expensive. Kind’ve acceptable given it’s so rural. − For $400+ a night I expected it to be cleaner. Not sure if the water is slightly harder there but there was like scale on a lot of the bathroom surfaces. Would be good to scrub the tap bases on the sink with a toothbrush every so often. Basic cleanliness but expect a lot more at this price point. Staff were friendly.

Disappointing stay and poor value for money + Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing. When we made the booking, we specifically requested a particular room, and that room was available at the time of booking. However, we were not given the room we had booked/requested. The facility itself is also quite ageing and dated, which added to the overall disappointment and made us feel that the experience did not reflect the price we paid. To make matters worse, there was a power outage while we were having dinner. This meant the buffet had limited food being prepared, so we did not feel we received what we had paid for. The power remained out for several hours afterwards, which significantly impacted our stay and overall experience. We understand that the hotel is in a rural setting and that some things may be outside of the hotel’s control. However, at over $500 per night, we found the overall experience extremely disappointing and did not feel we received value for money. We als…

Perfectly satisfying. + There was a lot going for this hotel. It was fairly central for all of our tours in the kakadu national park. Being shaped like a crocodile is why we booked it. − No lifts to the upper rooms.

This iconic property is very tied and needs a facelift, although generally clean there are areas tha − The property is in a need of a spruce up. Not enough staff as we had to wait for service at reception and to be seated at dinner. No lift to access upstairs rooms,3 guests in our room but only 2 towels , requested more from reception but didn’t arrive. Buffet dinner was very average with beef option ( sirloin steak ) very tough and dry, other option for meat was curry and battered fish bites, at $60 ph I guess the price was ok for what we got. We were very underwhelmed for our visit, being such a an iconic and well known hotel was disappointing. Covid pandemic was too long ago now to be an excuse for not updating property but that’s what it looks like.

+ Rooms were a good size. Pool was great. − Only one option for food. Would be better if they had activities/talks etc about local culture rather than having to go out on tours all of the time.
