    First time in Uzbekistan :) + Special heartfelt thanks to Sarwar and Umidjon for all of their help throughout my stay- especially in booking my train to Samarkand. The train website wasn't working, but these men went above and beyond to help me the night before my departure, and also in the morning Sarwar helped me get a cab (and even got upset at a cab driver when he wouldnt accept my luggage in his car without a tip). Sarwar was ashamed by the driver's ill manners and was concerned Uzbekistan was misportrayed to tourists like myself by the driver's behavior, but Sarwar's good deeds will always be remebered by me, i.e., no worries - Uzbeks are still good in my book thanks to Sarwar and Umidjon :). Lovely hotel premises, brand new, clean and spacious. Air conditioner was amazing in room. Breakfast staff were always smiling and friendly. One downside of the hotel was that I had requested airport shuttle information in my reservation on expedia, but the hotel never responded to my inqui…
