Definitely not a 4 star + Booked at the hotel for 7 days. Upgraded to beachfront room upon arrival. First mistake. Patio doors didn’t seal obviously quite old. That allows bugs and heat in. Upgrade was $500.00 definitely not worth it. No real extra amenities included. Greeted by you guessed it the “ timeshare people”. I don’t care to deal with this at all. Up very early, planes and airports, warm, thirsty, just wanted a little lunch a a seat at the pool not over an hour with Ricky who said he was not a time share concierge. Turned me off of ever returning to Iberostar. No means no Ricky… Food was ok. Some days better than others. Restaurants were not as good as the buffet. First day in the pools, pools were pretty but a lot of what looked like tobacco floating all over. The problem remained most the week but they we’re trying to work on it. Full Review-Nice Trip + I rely heavily on TripAdvisor reviews when selecting resorts, so I like to give an honest review after my stay for others. I traveled solo for some alone R&R over Mother's Day weekend. Check in was quick and friendly. I then met with the Concierge who shared some useful information about the resort and made a reservation on my behalf for dinner the evening of check in. He briefly mentioned the "time share" breakfast and offered me free services for attending but I declined and we moved on quickly. Start of check in until I was delivered to my room, was probably 15-20 minutes total. I was never approached by anyone else about the time share for the remainder of my stay. I downloaded the app and it was very useful throughout my stay. The room was a bit underwhelming but perfectly adequate and the decor fit the aesthetic of the resort. Worth the visit. Warm pools and good food + Food was excellent and pool was warm. Could spend hours watching all the different animals running around. Accommodation could use an upgrade but was always kept neat and clean. Thanks to certain staff, the maid who looked after room 1101 also, Jorge Cabrera, Josue Torres and Fredy Kauil at the theatre bar who looked after us so well. Will be back next year.

Worth the visit! Lovely resort + Lovely, spotless resort. Amazing, friendly staff with great food and drink. Nice rooms, very clean and very well kept by staff. We were on the first floor (building 19, room 1905). Our room faced the road where the golf carts travelled to/from the beach and pools but it was very quiet. Rooms have (wall mounted) shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower, body lotion and liquid hand soap by the sink, a great hair dryer and a small bottle of bug repellant. Mini bar stocked daily with a variety of colas and 2 beer. But if you want more cervesa 😉 (or anything) slip some cash in the fridge and ask for more. We did and she supplied us with a fridge FULL of beer! (we don't drink cola) And on my birthday they surprised me with a tray of chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of bubbly in the room. ❤️🎉 There is no bottled water in the rooms but there are 2 large glass bottles (that must stay in the rooms at all times) that you refill at a w…

Wonderful Family Vacation!!! + We just returned from a wonderful week-long vacation at Delmar, and our family had an amazing time. This was our first stay at an Iberostar resort after visiting more than 10 all-inclusive resorts over the years, typically with Dreams properties. For the price, Delmar is an outstanding value, and after this experience, we will definitely be booking Iberostar resorts again in the future. The standout feature of this resort is the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating—some of the best service we've experienced at any resort. The entertainment team was fantastic, especially Alex and Rodrigo, who worked tirelessly to get guests involved and keep the energy high throughout the day. Worst Resort + I will NEVER return to this resort as long as I live. Everyday of my 7 big hut stay I was woken up by staff, if it wasn’t cleaning at 7 am it was a sanders and a saw a 6 am. I never got to sleep in once. The staff will harass you every time you enter the lobby, trying to invite you to sit for a seminar, your entire stay and no isn’t an answer and they will find you by the pool or the beach to try and give you an “invite” to it. The food was a 4/10. The grounds are HUGE like honestly way too big. The atmosphere was not trash as well. Every resort iv been to everyone talks and gets to know each other a little, not here, it was out last day before I we learned anyone’s name because nobody was mingling. They told a 70 year old couple (one of them had a knee surgery) that they weren’t gold members so they would have to wait for the next “train” or walk. Family vacation with my granddaughter Katelyn Caldwell and boyfriend John Brumley. + Excellent places with the most friendly staff and the best food around, a lot of selections for food and an extremely awesome pools. Diego and Alessa were absolutely amazing with everything they did for us. The hospitality and friendship we received was out of this world. I would recommend this place 💯 to everyone.

A really lovely stay + We just came back from 2 weeks here and had such a lovely time. I was a little worried about the lack of AC in the restaurants but it was honestly fine. Swimming pool was gorgeous, we rented a Bali Bed through concierge for 4 days of our trip and it was so worth it. The feature of the app telling us when our room was clean was really helpful and the drinks in the room fridge were super appreciated. The room was really clean, super comfy bed and great water pressure in the shower. The grounds to the hotel are so incredibly well kept and the shuttle carts around were helpful and often but we chose to walk a lot of the time. We’re both vegan and our only minor complaint was that we found the buffet labelling wasn’t always right and often put out late into opening hours. Family Vacation + My family and I stayed at Paraiso Del Mar last week in Playa del Carmen. We went to have a great vacation. We left having an absolutely AMAZING time…so much so we’re booked to return in October! The entire resort, staff and service is a notch above all the rest. We’ve traveled the world and we were taken aback by the service we were given. We were treated like royalty and as though we were the only guests on the property. We fell in love with the Iberostar brand and what it has to offer around the world so much so that we became Club Members. Diego and Alessa made sure we were happy each day and helped us tremendously with navigating the property, things to do outside the resort, explained thoroughly the membership benefits and process and overall truly wanted us to enjoy our time. Gorgeous Setting Undone by Poor Service + We booked nine days at this resort and left after five. It's the first place we've ever wanted to leave early rather than extend, and here's why. Early in the trip, our kids were watching a large iguana by the pool when a staff member walked over and grabbed it by the tail for no apparent reason. He swung it around, hitting chairs and the floor, until its tail snapped off. When I asked why, he laughed and said, "Oh, they grow back." For a property covered in signs about protecting the local environment, this was disturbing and hard to square with the image they promote. Service was a recurring problem. With few exceptions, staff didn't seem interested in being helpful, and simple requests like a glass of milk for the kids were often met with irritation. Amazing vacation + We had an amazing vacation! The food was delicious, the pools were beautiful, and the entertainment every night was fantastic.
