Not luxury + Our family recently stayed at Banyan Tree Mayakoba for four nights, paying approximately $12,000 because we believed we were booking one of the premier luxury resorts in Mexico. We expected a true five-star experience that justified the premium price. Instead, it became one of the most disappointing hotel stays we’ve ever had. We understand that problems can happen at any hotel. What made this experience so frustrating wasn’t just the number of issues we encountered, but how each attempted solution created another problem. By the end of our stay, we felt as though we never actually received the accommodations or experience we had originally booked. We had reserved a three-bedroom villa specifically because it met our family’s needs and advertised a fully equipped kitchen. Our son has autism and a very limited diet, so we arranged for a private chef to prepare meals for our family during our stay. Service and the quality of food is top Tagged bicycles for each villa, makes it very easy to move around Adult beach was peaceful and provided for a joyful couple time with my girlfriend − Service at the family beach restaurant was noticiable below the other restaurants The cost of food is extremely expensive

Amazing place and staff + We went on a family vacation to Banyan Tree, and everything there was amazing. The villas, especially the Lanai, were beautiful. What made it very special was the staff, who were incredibly friendly and super accommodating. A special shout-out to our personal concierge, Juan Oropeza! He made sure our vacation was perfect and was always there to support us.

Magical time at Banyan Tree + We had a magical time at Banyan Tree Mayakoba. The villa was spectacular! The staff were equally impressive. They were really accommodating with our kosher needs. We really felt their desire to make our vacation extra special and that stood out. In particular, Gamaliel and Jesus at the beach and Angel, Abby, and April at the front desk were outstanding but honestly, everyone was. We will definitely be back!

Another Incredible Stay at Banyan Tree Mayakoba + This was our second stay at Banyan Tree Mayakoba, and somehow it was just as incredible as we remembered. During this trip, we stayed in two different villas—the Wellbeing Villa and an Oceanfront Villa—and on our previous visit we stayed in a Lagoon Villa. Honestly, neither one of us can decide which we like best. They each have something different to offer, but all of them are beautiful, incredibly private, and make it very easy to never want to leave the villa. The attention to detail throughout the entire resort is remarkable. Everything is beautifully maintained, the property is peaceful and lush, and the service is consistently excellent without ever feeling intrusive. The food is another huge highlight. From Saffron to Cello to Sands and everywhere else we ate, we genuinely did not have a bad meal during our stay. The quality and consistency across the restaurants is impressive. Beautiful, Peaceful Resort + We stayed at Banyan Tree Mayakoba as a family and had a very good experience overall. The property is beautiful, peaceful and extremely pleasant, with a relaxed luxury atmosphere that we really enjoyed. The villas are beautiful, spacious and very comfortable, with a real feeling of privacy. They also feel fresh and well maintained — very different from our experience at Banyan Tree Phuket, where the villas felt noticeably more dated. The pools in the villas were incredibly spacious. Not the usual plunge pool you will see in many hotels. One of the highlights for us was the beach club. It is really excellent: calm, comfortable, beautiful and very enjoyable, with a wide beach and a great pool area. The restaurant by the beach was also very good. We actually visited Rosewood Mayakoba during our stay, which is generally considered the most upscale property in Mayakoba, and we were surprised not to be particularly impressed by its beach and pool area. The breakfast team in Oriente is very nice with Marco and Edson as stand-outs. Marisol the hostess was very kind and knew exactly where we wanted to sit each morning. The bar team at La Copa is great. Irving, Oscar, Armando, Freddy, Sergio were on top of everything, remembered our orders from the previous night, and showed us new drinks.
