Defective Rooms, Ignored by Corporate, Mocked by Automated Denials + My 6-night stay at the Fairfield by Marriott Seoul was an absolute service catastrophe that completely shattered my trust in the Marriott Bonvoy brand. On my first night, severe room maintenance defects forced me to physically pack and haul my own luggage across THREE different rooms over a two-hour period, while front desk staff completely ignored the situation for 90 minutes. The post-stay behavior of this hotel is an absolute disgrace. After checking out, I left official 1-star feedback detailing the failure. Rather than addressing the issue, local operations management, specifically Jenn Kim and John Lee, rejected my repeated requests for standard service recovery. Instead, they weaponized automated email templates to repeatedly deny compensation, hiding behind useless paper breakfast coupons that I explicitly told them I could not use and returned completely untouched to the front desk. Comfort and Value at the Fairfield by Marriott Seoul + I enjoyed my stay at the Fairfield by Marriott Seoul. Nothing but positives. My room was clean, comfortable, and quiet; the fitness center was solid and open 24/7, and with easy access to the airport bus, several metro and rail lines, shopping, and restaurants. Note, unlike Fairfields in the US, this hotel does not offer a complimentary breakfast. Other reviewers have cited noise from the nearby train station and from the traffic. I had a room on a high floor and had no issues with noise. Yes, as other reviewers have mentioned, the room was small, but it was quite functional, and the bed was great. And, as other reviewers have mentioned, the bathroom layout is not ideal for privacy if you are sharing the room. But it was clean and the shower had excellent water pressure and temperature. The Fairfield by Marriott Seoul is not the most luxurious property flying the Marriott flag or in Seoul, but it was a nice and affordable option…

Really disappointed with our stay here. Would not recommend + Close to 2 different stations so made getting around easy and also a lot of shops and really good restaurants nearby. The cleaners were super polite. − One of the female receptionists when we first arrived was rude, dismissive and had an attitude. She was not accomodating at all. She did not even try. Also the sheets and towels had a funny smell. The pictures were deceiving as the room was so small. The showers had what appeared to be mold on the side down the bottom.
