Friendly and considerate staff. The bed, pillows and duvet was so comfortable felt like sleeping on a cloud! Great stay. + The room was an amazing size. Bed & pillows super comfortable! 10/10 nice sleep. Great location. Friendly and welcoming staff. − Limited buffet breakfast left at 10:30am but appreciate that it was towards the end of the service

UTTERLY abysmal, NOT value for money. One-star hotels typically are better run; stay away! + Location. − Suite curtains broken; no follow-up to fix them in 7 days. Bedside lamps too dim to read by. Room not serviced in a timely manner despite promises to do so. Untrained bartender. Breakfast truly awful -- served with ice-cold food on hot plates. Wife and I each sent it back to be heated 4 times each. Staff continually lied. Management completely inept.

Comfortable rooms, however overpriced for what you get. + The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable and the hotel is in a great location. − It was quite expensive considering you don’t get access to the spa which was priced at £25 per person just to use the facilities for half a day.

Disappointing and underwhelming for the value- try somewhere else in Buxton! + Liked the location, Buxton is stunning and there's plenty to do across a weekend. Even if it's rainy like it was on our visit! The room itself was okay, and the shower was very good. Although that's probably as far as the positives go.. − We waited half an hour to check in, despite originally arriving 15 minutes early and being turned away. Corridors were filled with garbage from the morning (it was past 1530 at this point), our suitcase was broken on the way up to the room and we weren't informed. The spa facilities were dirty and overcrowded, not what we expected! You couldn't even get a bed by the pool indoors as all were 'reserved' with towels. The breakfast was poor, like premier inn standards and the service was dreadful. Worse of all smokers set off the fire alarm at 3am during our stay! No apologies or compensation by management.. When we informed management of the poor experience, they stated that …

Relaxing and easy to be comfortable in. Facilities for disabled was good to see though not needed for us. + It was very central and in beautiful decoration with all facilities available including Spa which was extra. − Liked everything about it.

Good location comfortable accommodation but restaurant team needs attention + Location is excellent. Room is comfortable. Concierge team were excellent − The service in the restaurant was lacking in attentiveness resulting in all course for dinner not being offered. Breakfast service was slow and cooked food was not freshly cooked, with bacon being almost inedible.

Good — but expected excellent. + Central location. Excellent spa facilities. − Double bed too small. No water in room on first (of two) days. 1st and 2nd choice breakfast selections out of stock. Long delay at reception on arrival.

Enjoyed the stay, and the hotel was a good base to explore the area + Location, roof top pool, well maintained and cleaned. Loved the bath and bathroom. − Slight niggles are the long corridors, and decorations in the bedroom and dining room were rather dreary grey.

Hotel welches wirklich Eindruck erweckt - aber kaum drinnen war ich enttäuscht, schade. + Das Hotel hat eine gute sehr gute Lage und das Personal war freundlich. − Das Frühstück bot keine Abwechslung, wer jeden Tag englisches Frühstück mag, für den ist es gut, wer was gesundes zum Frühstück essen möchte wird enttäuscht. Auch die Sauberkeit im Hotel lässt zu wünschen übrig, überall auch im Zimmer recht staubig. Auf Booking sind Leistungen aufgeführt wie zB. Bügelservice und Reinigung (brauchten wir, da wir nicht mit geknitterter Kleidung in die Oper wollten), diese Leistungen gibt es gar nicht im Hotel. Sehr irreführend. Wir kommen leider nicht wieder, der Preis ist unverschämt.
