Very comfortable but expensive + Our room was excellent, very spacious and comfortable − The hotel does not feel very welcoming with a very small reception area, to get to that you have to push through an outside sitting area in an enclosed courtyard Also slapped with a 5% increase for a tourism levy which was not there when booked. Clearly not hotel du vin issue, but made the one night stay very expensive.

Fantastic, thank you. + Very welcoming and professional staff. Felt like a high quality hotel. They went above and beyond to accommodate my request due to my husband's birthday, upgrading our room and providing a free hamper full of amazing goodies! The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower and bath were both lovely and the access out of hours was appreciated to be able to get to and from the hotel safely while visiting the Royal Military Tattoo and Edinburgh festival. Easy to walk to the castle from our location. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!

Good for a shorter stay ,not long stays as it feels cramped and less staff to assist with your luggage and daily stuff. + Location next to the meadows and short walk to the royal mile ,busy place − We got a big room suite .Design is wierd with bath and bathtubs design.Hotel feels cramped as it’s old but decent

It was an experience thats for sure. + The location was very good for walking in old town, there was air conditioning, wifi, and a mini fridge in the room. − The first day I arrived I believe the hotel was having an off day. It was not a great experience ( the first day) but the female staff was amazing. The male managers should be fired. The day I was leaving there was blood all along the front side walk, very unique stay.
