+ The staff and their availability − Our room was too cold on arrival and water leaking in from the balcony door when it rained.

All in all, loved it. + We are not breakfast people :) however, we did have breakfast on our last morning there, at the recommendation of the chef. Given the dietary restrictions we have, we were able to have a satiable meal before departing. though it was a 10/10 for a couple vacation. The villa... the private pool that was cleaned and re-chlorinated daily.... the peace and quiet .. 10/10. The chef was particularly attentive. Highly recommend. − Perhaps we came at an off-peak season, but some hotel - pool live DJ sessions would have been great. Basically, some in hotel entertainment.

Whether you're looking for a comfortable room or a private villa with its own pool, Le Mersenne offers options that make a luxury-style stay much more accessible than many other resorts. For travelers looking for great value without sacrificing comfort, it's definitely worth considering. The resort operates on a bed & breakfast basis, with additional meal plan options available for guests who prefer more inclusive packages. One unique perk we loved is that guests also receive a complimentary sandbank excursion, which is a fantastic added value and a wonderful way to experience Zanzibar's beautiful coastline. Unbelievable resort with staff that personalized the experience and was above and beyond + As a Marriott Titanium Elite member, I’ve visited Marriott properties across the world. Our two night stay at Le Mersenne for my 60th birthday and our 38th anniversary was fantastic and special. We were upgraded to a Karibu Villa , and when we walked in the bed was decorated with flowers saying happy 60th birthday. The staff—Marianne who answered my e-mails Mbasha head of guest relaitons, Vanessa and Edson who greeted us when we arrived and were always there to help us, Cosmos Shubani in the dining room, the pool staff and especially Chef Aggrey went above and beyond to make our stay special and make us feel like they were there especially to provide us with a memorable experience. We keep kosher, and Chef Aggrey ensured we had specialized meals prepared for us with special attention to all the details to ensure we had gourmet kosher meals. East coast stop off + East coast of Zanzibar and stands alone on the beach with nothing much nearby. Impressive staff , very warm welcome and great service especially in the restaurant. Food excellent and sensibly priced - wine pricey though! The room was a bit tired, had to get the shower fixed as not working properly and housekeeping was a bit haphazard - no towels etc Pool small and sunbathing area ok but not brilliant. Good for a few days as part of a bigger trip but not sure I’d stay any longer. Nothing wrong with- just not a wow.
