10/10, Great Hotel and Area + Such a trendy Hotel and the location is excellent for most things in Oslo. The views outside on the water are just so gorgeous. We were only there for 2 nights before we flew to Bergen but would love to return some time in the future to discover more of Oslo. We were given so many great ideas from the girl in reception (Emilia) who was actually from Bergen on what to do both in Oslo and Bergen and had a great laugh. She really made us feel like special guests and took her time to explain everything we had questions about. 10/10. The breakfast was top notch with different options and all in all we really enjoyed our stay and hope one day to return.

Wonderful + An excellently located hotel in Tjuvholmen with splendid architecture; it was very clean, offered wonderful views from the room, and featured an excellent breakfast and extremely friendly staff who made our stay truly delightful. We walked to all the sights in Oslo; staying at The Thief made visiting the city a real pleasure. We will definitely be back!

An excellent place to be at in Oslo + We had a really warm welcome at The Thief. Hotel staff made sure we'd get the kind of room we asked for (With bathtub). Room was clean, modern and had really nice furniture. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise! Everything was prepared with love and passion. It tasted accordingly. Staff was always warm and helpful. Spa was a nice experience as well, while not too big, it still offered various types of saunas and a warm water bath. A relaxing way to end an evening. The location at the fjord was great as well, nice and quiet, some good restaurants around the corner. While it is a bit pricey, it felt well worth the money. We'd come again.

Expensive but worth it for a luxury break + We recently stayed at The Thief in Oslo and it lived up to its reputation. Yes, it is expensive, but in our view it was worth every penny. Our room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable, and the staff throughout the hotel were unfailingly helpful. Breakfast was a real highlight: a superb spread with excellent service, and the scrambled eggs were amazing. Dinner options in the rooftop restaurant are more limited, but what we had was perfectly fine, and the setting is lovely. The gym is good and the spa is excellent, though be aware that spa access may cost extra depending on your room category, so it is worth checking when you book. Highly recommended if you are looking for a luxury break in Oslo. We would happily return.

I’d stay here as a last resort. + It suited its purpose for a stay in Oslo. − Too boutique’ie. Seemed to be trying too hard to be edgy and artsy. City view was of a scruffy noisy children’s playground. And very modular surrounding buildings. No city view.

All in all, a great hotel with nice rooms. But not really worth the money, it was missing the service and small details + Great location, big rooms, love having a balcony. − Some of the furnishings in the room were a bit shabby. The leather was peeling off on the wardrobe, and the towels and robes were folded in a messy manner. Only a small thing, but you expect those extra details when you’re paying £600 per night. For the price, I expected a much more luxury experience. I will be trying a different hotel next time I visit Oslo.
