Pleasant hotel in a calm area far away from crowds + We are a family of 4 and we booked 2 rooms to stay in Ocean Park Marriott. The hotel is not in the main shopping district nor central business district in Hong Kong. It is within walking distance to one of the older theme parks in Hong Kong ( Ocean Park ) and it is also extremely close to an MTR station , so it is reasonably convenient. Because the area is not busy , and it is close to Ocean Park , the surrounding area of the hotel is quite pleasant. There is a shopping mall nearby , you can either take the MTR ( 1 stop away) or take taxi / Uber to get there easily. However if you want to be in the middle of shopping area / restaurants/ night life etc that Hong Kong is famous for , this is probably not the area you should look for. The rooms we booked offered very pleasant views . They are modern and clean and comfortable, and are reasonably size too. We had breakfast in the hotel every morning, they offered quite a lot of foo…

Serious Poolside Child-Safety Concern and Inconsistent Management + I am writing this review because of a concerning experience at the swimming pool, particularly regarding child safety and the way my concern was handled by management. During our visit, the weather was extremely hot, exceeding 37°C, with the poolside flooring exposed to prolonged direct sunshine. The floor became extremely hot, so naturally I wanted my son’s slippers to remain close to where he entered and exited the pool to minimise the distance he needed to walk barefoot. A lifeguard asked for my son’s slippers to be removed from the poolside. I subsequently raised the matter directly with Nancy, the Loyalty Manager, explaining specifically that the poolside floor was extremely hot and that requiring a child to walk barefoot across it could create a risk of burns to his feet. Instead, it was ruined by severe hygiene failures and disappointing guest service. * Severe Sanitation Hazard: During our stay, we discovered a lice infestation in our room, alongside general cleanliness issues. Finding a parasitic pest in a family-oriented 5-star hotel is completely unacceptable and posed a genuine health risk to my child. * Package Discrepancies: We booked a package that was supposed to include a Panda plushie (intended as my son's birthday gift). Other guests' reviews clearly show the large Panda plushie being provided, but we were only given cheap keychains.
