Pleasant awesome surprise resort + Wow. We were pleasantly surprised to find a magnificent hotel in the remote part of Malaysia. Just 4 hours from KL and a world of difference. Sahara, the GM, greeted us 😃. Veronica & Riki took care of our lounge & dining, thank you. Makan restaurant served delicious food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The resort property is fabulous and priced right. Until next time as we will definitely return.

A Wonderful Stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut. + I had an amazing 2D1N stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut on 30 June - 1 July. From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful and welcoming. The check-in process was smooth, and the warm signature cookie was a nice touch that set the tone for our stay. Special thanks to Adib at Makan Kitchen 🍽️ During breakfast, we were assisted by a staff member named Adib. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful throughout the dining experience. His excellent service made us feel very welcomed and taken care of. Thank you, Adib, especially for providing the baby chair for our little one — it made our breakfast so much easier and more comfortable. Your thoughtfulness really made a difference! Lastly, the room was spacious and cozy, with a nice balcony and comfortable bedding. However, one downside we experienced was the presence of many flies in the room. Top Hotel, super Personal. + An dem Hotel ist eigentlich alles super. Ich würde vorschlagen, dass man die Nutzung von Handys und Tablets mit Lautsprechern in dem Hotel (Restaurant, Pool, Lounge) verbieten sollte, da es Gäste gibt, die absolut gar keine Rücksicht auf ihr Umfeld nehmen.

+ From the moment we check in, environment is superb. Stunning sea view. Everyone welcomes you with smile. Check in was Fast and easy. Then you’ll start to notice flies flying around and there’s whole lots of them. Not in normal mode. According to staffs, it’s seasonal. I think it’s geographical, perhaps some farm and something nearby. They provide fly swatter in the room, we were greeted by 7 flies inside. Operation fly hunt begins. I’m okay. But my wife was quite disgusted. Especially during breakfast time. Other than this, everything is superb. Swimming pool is amazing. Kids pool terrific. Although the one with small water park is quite dirty. Slides are fantastic. Suitable for children and adult. Sunset is amazing. We had one of the best sunset moment here.

Great stay + I have to express many thank you's to the whole staff that made our visit so enjoyable. There were a few teething issues on check in with rooms allocated being occupied but with patience all was sorted and staff were so helpful throughout stay. Special mention to Zhia and Amilrul who made sure no further issues arose and booked dinners despite large group. We would happily stay again and recommend wholeheartedly

Top Choice for Staycation - Relaxing, Clean, Comfortable + 3rd time round. Great hardware. Software improved too. Flies that infested the restaurant before was not much of a problem anymore. Actually did not even see one during my stay. Kudos to the team at Double Tree Damai Laut for feedback seriouslt and taking action to improve. Not an easy job... so congratulations! Rooms, hotel compound and overall area are very well maintained. Always look forward to returning.

Big pools with slides, clean beach, kids’ activities, and relaxing vibes all around. + • Excellent leisure resort with a large swimming pool, kids’ slides, and a children’s playground pool. • Good food served at the Executive Lounge and Makan Kitchen, with lounge access from 8am – 8pm daily. • Rooms were small with limited amenities, but the overall environment made up for it. • Clean beach and relaxing atmosphere. • Kids’ club and game room kept the children entertained. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

Overall a good place to stay for a short trip + Rooms are decent but nothing spectacular. Quite ok with balcony facing the beach.. breakfast is good but dinner buffet is not great in terms of taste. Pool has slides and all and younger children will love it. Overall resort is clean and tidy and has some things to do. Beach is average with some activities. Beautiful sunset. Ok for short trip with children.

Outstanding & Wonderful Stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut Resort + I had an amazing stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut Resort! From check-in to dining, every part of the experience was excellent. At the Hotpot Restaurant, the food was absolutely delicious with a wide variety of options. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive—special thanks to Chef Fizi and Server Adib Zafran for their warm hospitality and great service! At the Front Office, Ms. Tiha made the check-in process seamless. She greeted us with a smile, was kind, friendly, and very approachable—truly an outstanding staff member. The Night Duty Manager Jason was also very helpful, offering informative advice on how to get around conveniently and economically, which made our trip even smoother. Amazing hotel + Amazing stay at the resort. Booked executive room with lounge access. The lounge is amazing with free flow from 5pm to 7pm. Very attentive staff namely Zhi yi, Parvez and Hidayah. They make my day.

Very good but not perfect + Will I be there again? Yes. Wonderful location and very nice spacious and clean rooms. HOEVER: it is quite far from downtown (30 min.) and the hotel does not provide shuttle buses. The common areas (corridors, elevators and even the doors of the rooms) need radical restyling/refurbishing. The restaurant is full of flies that "attack" customers even if the hotel is really trying all it can to eliminate them. Personnel is very kind but needs a loto of training. Anyhow a very good stay, well above avarege of hotels you find in Lumut area.

This is one classy resort - well maintained, great location, with good food + This one classy resort. It's well maintained - within the resort and its surroundings. My room is big and best of all, well lit. It's bright enough for me to some serious work. My impression of the room was that it was neat, tidy and clean - everyday. The Makan Restaurant is the main restuarant where I had my breakfast and dinner. The breakfast buffet spread is commendable. The croissants are superb, and best of all is the nasi lemak and the roti canai which goes so well with the curry chicken. Dinner for me was the nasi goreng. It came with 2 big prawns and a piece of fried chicken. In summary, I was surprised by the quality of the food. It was good. Checking in was smooth and efficient. A pleasant was the welcome cookies - 2 pieces warm and fragrant pieces. This was better than the usual welcome drink. Checking out was also hassle free. Do take note of the location of the resort. Been here numerous times, felt let down on this occasion. + I've visited and stayed at Damai Laut for nearly 15 years and unfortunately this might be the trip that stops me going. We stayed one night on a Friday and we were moved rooms twice due to issues. Upon check in we could sense that the hotel was very busy with those on a "stay cation". When we arrived at our room they were doing maintenance in the room next door which at first didn't appear to be an issue but upon returning from the pool they had painted the door which connected the two rooms and the paint smell was incredibly strong so we requested to move. We were moved from the 4th to 1st floor and therefore our paid for "sea view" was removed so we asked to be moved once more and we were "upgraded" to a family room which was at the other side of the hotel with a limited sea view and at the end of a very long corridor. In the final room the bed was very nice but the air conditioning was poor and never really cooled the …

Jungle Splendour + Driving out of KL and on the way to Penang is this fabulous deep in the jungle but also beachside hotel - something of a tropical paradise Surrounded by wildlife it’s certainly a tranquil place to spend a week or two. Bedroom overlooked the sea / Straits of Malacca overlooking Pankor island. Framed by the beautiful and extremely well maintained garden areas that included palm and original trees that have been well managed.
