Exceptional! + The Red Lion Inn was exceptional. The staff, atmosphere, cleanliness and food (amongst other things) was exceptional. We visited with our two year old son and they were so attentive, even when we requested a cot bed at last minute. The food was exceptional - we paid for evening meal outside in the beer garden and breakfast was so good. The range of options and quality was superb. The overall feel of the accommodation was exceptional. If we were to return we would definitely stay again. We wanted to visit The Cotswolds Wildlife Park, Diddly Squat and The Farmer’s Dog (typical tourists) and this was really central. If I could give more than 10/10 I would. Bella is also beautiful and has an exceptional temperament. Xxx − Nothing

Wonderful food, great room. + Really lovely property. Rooms all required stairs. Lovely once you got there. Deluxe king room had an alcove with a twin bed on the way to the bathroom/toilet so easily accommodates 3 though you do need to walk past them to get to the bathroom. Restaurant was great. Really enjoyed sitting in the garden and ended up having dinner both nights we were here in the garden. Breakfast was fantastic with a menu you order from. Everything very good. Highly recommend.

Top quality experience in every respect. + From the moment I arrived I was welcomed and made to feel valued by every member of staff I encountered. My room was excellent - comfortable and spotlessly clean with lots of extra touches. All the products were top quality - toiletries, biscuits, etc. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner that evening - again the service was impeccable and the food excellent. I had a very comfortable night's sleep and the breakfast was superb - 'proper' fresh orange juice, top quality thick bacon, top quality sausage, excellent haggis, etc. There was so much attention to detail and everyone was polite and attentive and hellbent on making the experience a fabulous one. The whole air of the place was 'quality' - the decor, the service, the food, the room, and, at the risk of sounding snobbish, it attracted nice, decent people too! − Nothing

Excellent and lovely staff, beautiful and cosy room with amazing food. + We had such a lovely stay here for my partners birthday, in company of our two dogs. The hotel is very dog friendly and made the stay very comfortable and enjoyable for both me, my partner and our two dogs. We also had dinner at the red lion which was delicious alongside a wonderful breakfast the following morning. We definitely look forward to coming back again in the future. − I could not fault our stay in the slightest.

The Red Lion is a welcoming, beautiful 17th century pub with beams, fire places and a resident dog! + The breakfast was amazing! Local produce, home- cooked and there were 2 courses! − The road was right next to our room so you could hear the traffic.

An enchanting place above the ordinary + This place is difficult to review because when we stayed their we just felt so welcome and everyone was just so friendly and helpful that it felt like much more than just an overnight stay. The location is great, lots of parking, the rooms are comfy and clean and the outdoor areas are super. The bar is charming and the restaurant really superb…but the staff (and owner and dogs 😁) make this place the pearl that it is. Our waitress Bella couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful and charming. We only stayed one night so I can’t wait to stay here again. Thank you all for a fantastic stay over the ordinary. − Nothing

Overall average at best + Location is good, close to many nice attractions. Dog friendly. Clean. − The room was too small, ceilings are so low we hit our heads many times, bed not comfortable, amenities were very basic. overall average at best.

The perfect place to stay in the Cotswolds. + We loved the quaint building, the village of Little Compton and all the staff at The Red Lion as well as the delicious food. − There was nothing we didn’t like however unfortunately we had a problem with the shower in our room. The staff were very helpful and a plumber was called. While he was unable to fix it in time for our stay, he had isolated the problem and it will be fixed!
