Great hotel with pool, gardens and a pleasant walk into Funchal centre + Great location and facilities - good food and dining options. − The gym equipment is very tired and needs updating.

New Years Eve in Funchal + The property is amazing with gardens and pools. The service and staff are exceptional, and the food was amazing. − The rooms are a major letdown in that they have outdated, old, and used furniture, very used towels, and bed linen. They are extremely basic and not up to the standard of a Pestana Group hotel. They need a major refurbishment in the rooms and to change all the decor, especially the curtains (dirty and outdated), scratched walls and scuff marks. In all, the rooms were a major letdown. We had stayed in 2 different rooms, and both were equally disappointing.

Wonderful staff, modernization needed + The staff here are truly incredible! They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. From a personalized check-in - where Fabio was absolutely amazing with my kids - to a wonderful birthday breakfast celebration for my wife, every detail was handled with care. Thank you for everything! − While the service was excellent, the rooms could benefit from some updates, such as replacing the dated corded phones and installing USB charging ports. Additionally, the indoor pool felt a bit chilly at 22°C and lacked amenities for children. We also noticed that the Wi-Fi connection was quite weak in the pool area

Room with a view that needed a little work + Location, parking, staff , lovely common areas Balcony offered great views of the harbor and hillsides. Elevators were fast tho small − Rooms very dated with no working refrigerator or in room coffee. Bed quite uncomfortable. Told we had to wash our own dishes but no facilities to do so. Found dish detergent at nearby Mercado.

fantastischer Garten + Sehr schöner Essbereich im Freien neben dem Swimmingpool. − Das Buffet war nicht schlecht (gute Auswahl), aber das Essen war nicht immer sehr warm. Meiner Meinung nach schloss es zu früh (schon um 21:30 Uhr). Ich habe mich an der Balkontür verletzt – ich konnte das Schloss nicht aufschliessen. Ich habe mir in den Finger geschnitten. An der Rezeption wurde mir Erste Hilfe geleistet. Ich bekam ein anderes vergleichbares Zimmer, aber leider wurde mir kein Upgrade angeboten – das fand ich nicht ganz angemessen.

- + Garten wunderschön, dto. das kleine Restaurant "Miramar" im Hotel, hervorzuheben ist besonders der Service von Herrn Nelio Fernandes − Qualität des Frühstücks nur mittelmäßig (Brot und Obst sehr gut, Aufschnitt und Käse mittelmäßig bis schlecht). Durch die Größe des Raumes recht rummelig und ungemütlich, Gäste teilweise mit ungehobeltem Verhalten. / Keine normale Steckdose im Spiegelbereich des Badezimmers, Personal grundsätzlich hilfsbereit, allerdings mit Ausnahmen.

Very relaxing stay for four weeks mid January to mid February 2026 + Beautiful situation. Very friendly staff and good food. Bus stop outside the hotel for buses to Funchal and other destinations. The indoor swimming pool was great as too cold for the outdoor pool in winter.

Agréable Séjour au Pestana Miramar + A 20 min à pieds du centre de Funchal. Hôtel très calme,avec un très beau jardin et 2 belles piscines. Vue sur Funchal très belle. Le buffet du matin et du soir d excellente qualité. Personnel de salle très sympathique. − Pas de bouteilles d eau de bienvenue dans la chambre. Pas de cocktail de bienvenue. Difficile de s orienter au début entre le Pestana Garden et le Pestana Miramar. Très peu de places dans le parking payant à 15 euros par jour Il est regrettable qu il n y ait qu un grille pain pour 2 tartines et en fin de vie pour autant de convives, alors que le buffet du petit déjeuner est de qualité.

Expensive considering quality of foodpl + Pools, especially the indoor pool for cooler days. Our room was quiet. For such a large hotel, there was no noise at night. − The food offering at the buffet wasn't for us. We weren't impressed with the quality of the food.

Excellent séjour hormis cet accueil à l’arrivée. + L’ambiance et le cadre − Le seul problème pour nous a été la réceptionniste lors de notre Check in. (Froide, pas souriante et nous avions l’impression de la déranger avec nos questions). Nous avons eu l’impression que le tarif du parking a été fait à la tête du client.
