    A great find! + Coming out of Prince Albert is Weltevrede Road, a bumpy and dusty, rural dirt road that eventually dead ends at Weltevrede Fig Farm. In this tranquil spot of orchards and beautiful and aromatic flowers you meet sixth generation farmer, Leisl, and her husband. They are the friendly, neighborly couple who own and farm this special property. Leisl greeted us and showed us the special quirks of the lovely and spotless 3 bedroom, 3 bath De Hoek house, the exterior of which was used in a television show we enjoy. We ate on the front porch, enjoying the bird sounds and colors of the Karoo. On an evening stroll we were surprised and delighted to come upon a tortoise. Up at the office we were able to charge our phones. While a remote, rural, stay with no electricity (gas appliances plus lanterns) isn’t for everyone, we really enjoyed our stay at this peaceful and quiet farm in early October 2025. Disconnect and relax at the farm.

    Zweifellos ein Höhepunkt unserer Reise! + Dieses Haus ist ein Traum! Es ist vollständig ausgestattet mit allem und mehr was man sich wünscht und liegt alleine auf einem Berg mit einer wunderbaren Aussicht und Wandermöglichkeiten. Der Sternenhimmel nachts ist unübertroffen! Ein perfekter Ort um Auszuspannen. Eigentlich möchte man nicht wieder weg. Im Farmshop, den man mit einem Spaziergang erreichen kann, kann man sich stärken und hochwertige Produkte der Farm erwerben. Die Besitzer sind sehr gastfreundlich.
