Perfect place to stay especially if like us you need a comfortable, dog friendly, near Le Shuttle which has a good resta + The room is large and very well decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable. The double glazed windows stopped any road noise. There was an event on when we arrived and the car park was full but the staff managed the situation with friendly professionalism. Special mention for Millie who was really thoughtful and friendly. − Nothing

+ We had a lovely stay at the Tickled Trout, and enjoyed a delicious dinner there and two breakfasts. The staff are welcoming and warm, and the facilities in the room were great - we were able to request an ironing board, which was handy. The mattress was comfortable and the shower was good. − Not something the property can change, but the ceilings on the way to and in our room were very very low for my partner who is 6ft 2! The rafters at the bar also just collided with his head unless he slotted himself between them very carefully, haha. That's par for the course with an older building, but thought it might be handy for other travellers to be aware of it.

Top Essen, top Service und Personal, aber zu warm und zu laut im Hochsommer! + Personal und Einrichtung waren top. − Das Zimmer war zu laut wegen der vielen Autos, die nachts direkt vor dem Haus vorbeifuhren. Die Fenster zu machen war nicht möglich wegen der Hitze im Zimmer, das leider nicht kühl zu kriegen war, weil die Fenster nicht weit genug zu öffnen waren.

Although it's a bit on the pricey side, this is a very nice place to spend a couple of nights! + Our room was wonderful, in this wonderful pub in the Kent countryside. We had a delicious dinner on the second evening. The room was clean and the staff are friendly. Despite no air conditioning, the room temperature was just right. − It feels churlish to mention this, but the Tickled Trout doesn't have an elevator (lift). Not at all surprising given the building's age, but people with mobility issues should take note. Also, the breakfast service doesn't start until 08:00. I'm not an early riser, but for both our nights we had to be out of the door by that time so missed it. :-(

+ Nice room, well decorated with plenty of space. Bed, bowls and biscuits were also provided for our dog. − The room was hot and humid even with the windows open to the full extent. It would have been nice to be able to get more airflow through the room.

Enjoyable stay, lovely staff and room + Lovely style pub hotel, nice room and staff − The only thing it lacked was room to put your laptop on the table in the room to work comfortably on it. It had the tea and coffee making facilities on it, which left little room to work
