Alexander Pope Twickenham Honest Review + Lady on reception very nice, pub linked to the hotel staff and food was lovely, breakfast was well worth the money. Hotel room was beautiful and newly decorated to high spec − I booked a room with balcony overlooking the Thames, yes we got this room however was never informed at time of booking on the building works which are currently being carried out, the balcony would have been lovely however the hotel was wrapped with scaffolding so the view was litterally the scaffolding and the protective wrapping so couldn't even see the road let alone the Thames? I did book this room at the higher cost and of known about this probably would've booked somewhere else or another room without a view at a cheaper rate! On arrival we wasn't told about any works etc luckily enough it was Sunday and bank holiday monday so no actual works were being carried out, lastly I know this cant be helped however the police sirens lasted for hours going up n down past t…

Nice hotel which is good value for money + The bedroom was a good size and the bathroom was very nice with a monsoon shower. The mini bar was well stocked and there was a good selection of snacks. I also liked the fact that we had a balcony with a table and chairs. Breakfast was excellent and everything was reasonably priced.

Schönes Hotel für erholsamen Stadturlaub als auch für Geschäftsreisen + Frisch renoviertes Zimmer, ich war der erste Gast in diesem Zimmer. Sehr geschmackvoll und cosy eingerichtet. Das Bad sehr modern und geräumig. Das Personal äußert freundlich und aufmerksam. Sehr gutes und abwechslungsreiches Frühstück, auch der Sunday Roast ist sehr zu empfehlen. Lovely hotel in a great location + We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms which was lovely. The air-con worked well and the room had everything we needed. Breakfast was great! − Only downside was the scaffolding outside our windows, but this didn’t impact our stay at all.

September 2026 + A lovely hotel. Our room was stylishly decorated and very comfortable. There was a well stocked mini bar and plentiful snacks to purchase. Additionally there were high quality toiletries in the bathroom. The staff were great. Breakfast was generous and of very good quality. − Unfortunately, the current renovations impacted our stay, with scaffolding and building materials outside our room/terrace. Even though we were disappointed by this, we liked the hotel very much and, should we return to Twickenham on another occasion, we'd have no hesitation in revisiting the Alexander Pope.

Not quite perfect, but I'd certainly come again. + comfortable and well-appointed room (if a little over-designed!); friendly and helpful staff; unexpected balcony with view to the river; no inconvenience from the building works; silent aircon; good beer; charming hand-written welcome postcard. Excellent location for Strawberry Hill House. I'd certainly come again. − The large TV had poor or zero reception on most channels; no bathroom mat; disappointing 'full English' breakfast - rock-hard black pudding appeared to have been toasted!

It was a lovely stay. + The room was very comfortable and charming. Nicely appointed and appreciated the drinking water, shortbread, iron and board, and shower products. The food was delicious, convenient, and reasonably priced. − My only criticism is 2 things about the bathroom. There was not an electrical outlet in the bathroom so I couldn’t use the blow dryer in the bathroom. Also, there was no exhaust fan or window to open, so it was very foggy after shower.
