Great economic option with private beach access in the charming town of Kings Beach + Location was amazing. In relation to everything in town at Kings Beach, it was great - perfect walking distance to a delicious bakery (Tree House Cafe). Also very easy to get to Sand Harbor State Park (20-minute drive). My room at the Motel was situated within view and a few steps of the lake, even without purchasing the balcony option (I did opt for the lake view). I had 24-hour access to the sounds of waves and the ability to put my toes in the sand at their private beach! I also enjoyed the kitchen in the room; great for boiling water for coffee, heating leftovers, and keeping snacks and drinks very cold in the little fridge! Overall, this quaint and charming motel is a great economic option in the Lake Tahoe area! − The noisy AC unit made it a bit hard to sleep the first night—and being a solo female traveler placed on the first floor, I didn't feel comfortable opening my window at night (especia…

Needs better management and hot water but charming and great location. + We’ve come for 7 years. Love it in general. But this year we stayed in the standard doubles. It was loud. The beds were tiny and no hot water. When we tried to upgrade the staff the first day was pretty rude and not helpful. The next day she seemed to have no idea how to find our reservation. Then the next gal was a total DOLL (brown hair and nose ring?). It just seemed like there was NO overall cohesive management. We loved the next room we had. But only thanks to one sweet woman. And the lake front access and pool and hot tub all so great for the value. Not having hot water was miserable.

We had a great time, we enjoyed our stay. + Everything, super clean, great location. Comfortable beds and pillows. − I don't like that we can't book in advance and that it's hard to reserve rooms.

We had a great stay, too short! We will be back! + The location was fabulous! Amenities like pool, spa, fire pits and lounge chairs were super!! Parking was very good. Restaurants close by. Coffee shop next door!! − Would have liked better air conditioner in our unit!

You really ought to point out that room 240 is in a terrible location! + This is the third summer we’ve stayed at this motel! The location is fantastic—everything is within walking distance! There’s a private beach, a pool, and a Jacuzzi! The room is clean, and the mattress and pillows are excellent. − It wasn't mentioned during booking that our room was on the lower ground floor, right next to the pool filtration system! There was loud noise 24 hours a day! There was absolutely no high-speed internet! It was impossible to open the window—the latches were broken! The shower was terrible! The showerhead was old!

+ The Crown Hotel was honestly the best hotel experience my wife and I have ever had! The location is absolutely beautiful, and the amenities were truly the icing on the cake. The views were breathtaking, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the outdoor seating areas were sooooo pretty and relaxing. We loved every minute of our stay and will absolutely be back!

Basic, good place to stay. + It's conveniently near our friend's cabin on Kings Beach. Decent place to stay, nothing fancy . − It was fine, and what was expected, having stayed there many times before.

Couldn’t wait to leave. + View of the lake − The whole place was very sub-par. The air conditioning was a floor unit with an exhaust tube going out the window! Bed very uncomfortable. The bed ran uphill and mattress had a deep hole in the middle!

Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant, housekeeping staff were so nice and friendly, great location, but run down for + I liked that the property was in a great location and could walk to the lake and restaurants − I felt that the property was very outdated and run down. For the price you pay to stay there the property could put some of those profits towards a few upgrades.

A must stay for your vacation , walking distance to food, shops, groceries and entertainment + Right on the Tahoe beaches − Nothing everything was perfect

Love the dramatic location of this hotel. It has a nice friendly vibe about it. + Beautiful view of Lake Tahoe. Unusually cold weather so we were not able to enjoy the lake for swimming or kayaking as planned. Surprised that there was a very complete kitchen in room. − The beds are very firm. The property lights were very bright and did not allow the room to be completely dim.

Great location with basic amenities. + The location, pool, hot tub and beach − The hot water didn’t work in the last day as we were preparing to check out.
