Great for the Barbican, near to York centre and parking. Breakfast very nice, Staff lovely. + Location to the Barbican is very good and only a small walk into the centre of York. Room very nice but with it being very hot when we stayed, the windows were open all night and it is a very busy road. Breakfast lovely, staff very nice. − Noise from traffic outside, didn't sleep too well but only downside. It was hot so windows had to be open.

A stopover on our way to Liverpool Beatles Week + The pub itself is traditional and welcoming with the bonus that their food was lovely. Their pies were delicious and I would definitely recommend their haddock and extra large chips - beautiful! The free parking was perfect for us as we were on a touring type holiday. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept well . − Just a few things. Access to the room from the car park with our luggage was a mini adventure, no lift exists and the route is upstairs and a bit narrow and twisty. The room is basic and dated but perfectly functional for a 2 day stopover. Same with the toilet shower room - lighting could be improved a lot and the extractor fan is really noisy- but everything did work. I was probably expecting a bit better as it was not an inexpensive choice.

Great staff, and food + Dinner was fantastic. One of thebest pies I have had for a long time. Other half had the fish & chips and she was equally impressed. Good options for breakfast. Staff were genuinely friendly, helpful and knowledgable − Bit of a creaky bed but couldnt be helped. If you want peace and quiet this isnt for you as it is on a busy road just outside the City walls. Easy access to the city itself was what we wanted and didnt really care about the outside noise

Rose 🌹& Crown 👑 + Free parking! Staff very polite and welcoming 🙏 Great food & drink available 😋 Room basic but lovely and lots of space and comfy bed. 10min walk into York City centre so its a good location 👌

+ All the the staff was amazing. The food and drink is very good and a lot to choose from. The locals made me feel so welcome as well. Great fun on the quiz . Breakfast was very good and cooked to perfection.

Great price, food was good, excellent location just out of town. Highly recommend. + Room 4 faced the back garden and car park, very quiet at night . The bed was ok , not what you have at home but ok for the price. Shower room was excellent, plenty of hot water. Breakfast was very good. The staff were excellent, nothing was a problem for them. The location was good, we took the bus each day into the town centre, just two stops, probably a 10 minute walk at most. − My sister and partner had Room 5 and it faced the front and main road. Noisy with traffic and across the road was student accommodation which they said was noisy with young people at night. We didn't get that noise in Room 4, beware,
