A lovely comfortable bed and the staff were warm and friendly. + The comfort of my bed and the fact the bathroom had a bath as well as being a good sized bathroom! − Why do you have a coffee 'machine' in the restaurants. The coffee is never as good and it brings the whole tone of the meal/breakfast down. You may as well be in a cheap cafe.. Parts of the hotel looked a little tired. The pathway from the carpark to the side of the main house, overlooking the parkland had old broken furniture piled up on one side, alongside the remains of an old bonfire. It wasn't a good 'look' .

Lovely + Good choice for breakfast & good quality of food, ie free range eggs sourced locally. Every member of staff we had contact with were extremely helpful and unfailingly kind. We were at the hotel to attend a funeral nearby & the wake was held at the hotel. We could not have asked for better service or more caring staff.

A hotel at odds with itself. Some parts updated, some parts still in the 1960s. + Gorgeous location, spacious car park, easy to find from the M4. Staff were all very friendly. Reception was welcoming. Very spacious room. − We were in a room at the back of the hotel with incredibly dated decor and furniture. I felt like I was walking into my granny’s attic bedroom. The room itself was very spacious but it had two tiny attic windows, no air conditioning (only an electric fan on a stand and the furniture was old mahogany with an old fashioned wardrobe and bedside tables - so dated that the bedside lamps were turned on by a rocker switch just below the bulb, same as at my granny’s house (and I’m 60 years old so shows how old the furniture is!). Bathroom was also super old and the only thing that modernised it very slightly is that it was white ceramic rather than pink or avocado!!

The character has been left at the door. + Externally it looks very beautiful. − Internally, it looked like a 1980s travelodge.

Whilst the stay was adequate the location stunning + The location was beautiful, the food in the restaurant was delicious, reception staff were very friendly and the bed was comfortable − The room was not very clean there was a stain on the mattress, the walls were paper thin you could hear other guests clearly, the compliments were very poor not enough milk, the coffee and tea were poor quality, they offered a single small bottle of drinking water, you have to buy more, plastic cups and bags in the bathroom, the fan was overly noisy in the bathroom, drink very over priced

Very pleasant and peaceful. + Decent food, good breakfast, quiet room and surroundings. Pleasant staff. Problem with tv which was sorted very quickly. Ample easy parking. Would definitely stay again. − Fridge in the room could have been placed on a chest or something rather than just left on the floor. But not much to complain about.

Excellent value for money. Comfortable and beautiful location. Great dinner and breakfast and staff were amazing. + We were offered an upgrade & took an Exec room, which was large, well equipped & comfortable. We loved the location and the restaurant was great. Staff were amazing & couldn’t do enough to help. − The toilet in room 112 needs attention - a pain to flush

+ Fantastic location and building. Lovely grounds too − Room was average, which for the price was a bit disappointing.
