Quite literally, a paradise escape from city life + The authentic rustic feel of the barn, the fire to warm the cooler evenings. Loved the escape from city life. − Place could be a little cleaner of dust and cobwebs etc

Traumhafter Urlaub + Es ist hier eine außergewöhnliche Ruhelage inmitten der wunderschönen Natur Irlands. Es gibt einige Tiere die vor allem für Kinder zum streicheln da sind. In der Nähe von 2 min gibt es einen kleinen Steinstrand in einer Bucht mit kristallklarem Wasser. Der Garten ist weitläufig und gut gepflegt. Die Unterkunft hat alles was man braucht, sogar eine Badewanne gibt es. − Nichts.

Cosy comfy stay + The Long Barn was everything I expected, remote but not too far from a thing , the instructions to the property were excellent ( wouldn’t have been easy find without) The place was cosy with everything we needed, will stay longer next time . − Rain!

I loved staying there, and I want to come back with the whole family! + The hosts and in particular their lovely and friendly dogs where amazing! It was calm a beautiful location! − It‘s an old barn. You should be aware of that, and you could find some little spiders for example. But that’s country side, isn’t it?

− The owner come into the property after we had checked in to adjust the heating. In our opinion this impinged on our privacy. Our belongings were there and they had no place to come in while we were in skibbereen. The place was damp and needed the boost on longer. Owner is miserated!

+ Peaceful, private and very magical setting! Loved the wood burner. Loved the dogs and chickens visiting. Stunning garden. Friendly host. Idyllic location including beach really close by.

Au calme, en pleine nature tout en étant proche de tout. + C’est un privilège de séjourner à l’écart de la foule, tout en restant proche de tout, plages, restaurants et Pub, et de tous les charmants points d’attraction de West Cork ( Connely’s à Leap, Union Hall, Glandore, Skibbereen, Baltimore, Scull, Clonakilty… tout ces villages sont accessibles entre 5 et 20 minutes en voitures. Mizen Head est à 1 heure et vaut vraiment le détour. Le logement est confortable pour 2 à 4 personnes. Bien équipé, Lave linge, sèche linge et un poêle à bois. Il y a un mini super marché à Union Hall à 5 minutes en voiture, c’est très pratique. − Tout était parfait. Les routes sont parfois très étroites, les autres conducteurs sont toujours bienveillants.

Unique Property in need of some love + Fantastic location. Lovely to meet the chickens and dogs in the morning. (If you’re not a dog lover, perhaps not for you!) Comfortable beds. Responsive and helpful owner. − There is rustic charm and then there is the point where a property tips over into disrepair and needing a thorough deep clean. Whilst I fully understand that we were in rural Ireland, one would expect a certain level of cleanliness, care and attention as a paying guest. This property had the air of neglect, not just after a long summer season, but more than that. Mould, millipedes, cobwebs, dust, grease, grime, sticking doors, peeling paint, half working toaster, dog chewed washing up bowl, overarching smell of damp… I didn’t expect perfection, just a little care and attention and cleanliness - not all spiders removed, that’s not realistic in a rural property, but built up webs taken care of, webs clinging to the grease in the cooker extractor hood, removed for our arrival… m…

+ This is an ideal place to stay if you’re looking to get away from the city and enjoy somewhere peaceful and quiet. The place was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location is great, with plenty of places just a few minutes away by car, and you can also walk to the beach. The instructions for getting there were very clear and helpful, which made everything really easy. Our hosts were wonderful and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. Bailey, Pixie, and Richard were especially great and made us feel right at home. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere comfortable, peaceful, and relaxing to stay.
