Amazing! + This property has everything you need to enjoy a weekend getaway! Golf course was fun, pool was great, food was amazing, staff was so welcoming and engaging. We loved it, thank you!

Old money + The grounds are absolutely lovely. The rooms are nicely laid out. We had a lovely patio with a fire pit that was beautiful at night. Our only complaint was check-in. We had a travel zoo, deal, and watched customer after customer check-in and when we came up with our travel zoo reservation, we were told our room it’s not ready for another 15 to 20 minutes and they would text us when the room was ready. The time was 2:55 PM. We drove around Rancho Bernardo and by 3:25. We decided to go back. No text but we did get our room. The second thing that was hard was the lack of easy access to rooms. We were on the bottom floor, so it meant two flights of stairs. Not that we were not able to navigate the stairs, but with luggage, it was a concern for us and other people. Breakfast was a disappointment. We had a $60 voucher and the food was creative, but not great. We still owed $19 for two breakfast and two coffees. Excellent Service!!! + We absolutely loved our stay here and the foundational reason was the staff. The grounds were gorgeous, the patrons friendly, the food was really yummy but the lovely, highly professional staff simply beat our expectations. Everyone was warm, welcoming and attentive to our every needs. 5 star service at a 5 star location - we love it and will be back.

Anniversary Escape + Loved our garden room and balcony, the grounds, peace and quiet, the adults only pool and all the fountains surrounding the property. The staff was wonderful. Joe, Amy and Sergio at Avant and Isabel and Chloe of guest services too! The dining at Avant was delicious and the service superb, with lovely ambience. Can’t wait to go back!!

Incredible Stay from Start to Finish! + We had an amazing stay at the Rancho Bernardo Inn from August 11–14. The hotel was beautiful and exceptionally clean, the food was delicious, and the entire staff was warm and friendly. We loved the pools, and our gorgeous room opened directly onto the garden, with a peaceful waterfall just outside. A huge thank you to Benjamin Garcia and his team for showing us the true meaning of genuine hospitality and service. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted curbside, every door was opened for us, and the team immediately assisted with our luggage. Mason was especially wonderful, he was incredibly kind and friendly to our four-year-old son and even gave him a little stuffed bear as a souvenir. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made our son feel very special. The entire team made us feel completely at home throughout our stay. Spacious, but Dated + Spacious on a golf course, but a bit dated in need of renovation. Amenities decent, but for tennis & pickle ball are not on the same grounds. Resort has an affiliation with a nearby community club, which does not have a resort feel; but more Boys & Girls Club feel.

Weekend getaway + The resort checked all the boxes. The golf, restaurant, and pool areas were all above par. The rooms were spacious and clean. Definitely returning next year.

Wonderful weekend get away. + We enjoyed our one night stay at Rancho Bernardo having had 2 nights in San Diego city. It is a peaceful retreat resort, the beauty of it is aged but well groomed and clean. The foliage is older and out grown in areas. The family pool was clean and not over crowded. The adult pool very peaceful and quiet. Our room was pretty spacious for a standard room; bathroom was especially nice for counter space. We liked having a big screen smart TV and a mini fridge. Our dinner at Veranda was very good; I had the scallops. Seafood can be easily overcooked, but it was cooked perfectly, tender and moist. My husband had the lamb; needed to be trimmed prior to cooking as it had a lot of fat; he asked for medium rare and it came out a little more rare. But for him, that was good. Happy we chose here for our last minute weekend get away!

Superb customer service + The entire experience was satisfying, but I really want to point out an especially professional problem solving skills of the front desk and guest service team. We smelled strong cigarette smoke coming into our nonsmoking room when we came back from our dinner, maybe around 9:30PM on Aug 20, 2026. It is super selfish behavior of the smoker, but I understand hotels may not have much control on it. I called the front desk, even though I was not very sure if this could help solving the issue. The gentleman who answered the call responded very professionally, explaining me they will diagnose the situation and seek for a solution. We heard a respectful conversation from the lower floor room maybe less than 5 minutes after the call. Then the smell stopped entering our room. I deeply appreciate their sincere effort and outstanding professionalism handling this issue.

Wonderful thanks to Mason! + My dad and I arrived and were lost finding our building for our rooms. We asked Mason just to point us in the right direction and he immediately stopped what he was doing, grabbed our bags and took us the whole way. He was so professional and so nice. He showed us into our beautiful rooms and gave us a full tour. Thank you Mason!!

The staff throughout the property were friendly, attentive, and welcoming, and the overall service was excellent. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, and we really appreciated the attention to detail. The property itself was beautiful, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy our time. We had such a great experience and are already looking forward to coming back.

Beautiful property; Service Meh + Beautiful Property, but Service and Staffing Fell Short Rancho Bernardo Inn is a beautiful property with lovely grounds—we really enjoyed that part of our stay. Unfortunately, our dining experiences at the Fireside Lounge were disappointing. On our first evening, we arrived for dinner without a reservation and were offered seating on the couches, which was perfectly fine with us. Shortly afterward, another couple arrived without a reservation and was offered the same option. The woman threw a major fit, and the hostess—possibly Norah—ultimately gave them a table. It felt unfair and inconsiderate to guests who had accepted the couch seating. The following morning, despite having a breakfast reservation at the Fireside Lounge, service was very slow and inattentive. On a positive note, the vanilla lattes there were excellent. Here for a good time AND a long time! + Absolutely loved my stay here! From beginning to end, everyone I met and came in contact with was extremely intentional about making our experience memorable and special.
