An amazing place to stay to enjoy all that Mackinac has to offer. + The hotel was wonderful. It was in a great location, just a short walk from the ferry and on level ground. They took our luggage in Mackinaw City at the ferry and we didn't see it until it turned up in our room. We made dinner reservations at the 1852, the restaurant in the hotel and we had a beautiful table overlooking the front lawn and harbor. The food was delicious and service very attentive. Everyone at the front desk was friendly and helpful. It was very fun to sit on the front porch and watch all the bikes, horses and people on the street and in the morning it was a peaceful place for coffee. It's a great location because it's close to downtown, yet relatively quiet. − Nothing

Beautiful property, average rooms. + Overall a good value for the premium costs on Mackinac Island. Pros - 1. Absolutely stunning grounds and view. The porch and lawn Adirondacks are wonderful. It is so peaceful and charming in the evening when things slow down. 2. Great location- walking distance to ferry but away from the crowds. The included luggage transport is very convenient. 3. Restaurant was excellent and service was too. We didn’t try the outdoor restaurant in back of the property but the food smelled very good. 4. While the pool is older and inside, there are open sliding doors around it and nice chairs and umbrellas outside of it. There’s also a bar so you can have a drink while kids swim. 5. Shower water pressure was good. The biggest con is that the rooms are very mid. Small bathroom, loud and blowy air conditioner. Lots of noise from floors above. Also like I said the pool is older but it’s fine for a quick swim. Overall this is a good choice if you don’t plan on…

Excellent historic hotel + Clean room. Pleasant, efficient and helpful staff. Our room had a wonderful view. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel. We had the breakfast package for each day in the 1852 Grill and it was very good and a nice way to start our day. We also included one dinner at the 1852 Grill in our package. The meal was excellent and a great value as part of the package. We did also try the Ice House for dinner one night. I wouldn't recommend it as the food was average at best.

Unforgettable stay on Mackinac island with family + Beautiful location for our vow renewal! − The stairs from 3rd to 4th floor but it was worth it for the big room/suite we had.

I was overcharged so much. After paying 830 I saw a listing online for the same room for a little over 300. We talked to + It was a nice location close to everything. − The bathroom was tiny. The building was very outdated.

Enjoyable, and unique experience. + Hotel was very nice, bed was very comfortable. Good location and easy walk to downtown. Ease of use for elevators. Partial view was nice. Room was quite at night. − Room was small, breakfast was expensive. The room AC unit was too loud. Too many staircases to get to our room on the 4th floor from the 3rd floor.

It was a beautiful place and I was thrilled to stay there, perhaps not the best place if you have a walking disability. + It was beautiful and it was in a great location. I love that they pick up your luggage at the ferry and take it back. They deliver your luggage right to your room. − First, I am am a partial paraplegic, but I research and ask questions. The lift on the front porch wasn’t working while I was there. I called ahead and had requested a room near the elevator. They said it was no problem. I got a room close to the elevator, but had to goo down stairs to get to it after getting off elevator. For the price they charge to stay there, one should not have to ask for their room to be straightened, beds made, garbage taken out, dirty towels removed and replaced, and we were told were told we had to bring down our own luggage. That meant I had to carry my heavy suitcase up the stairs and to the elevator. They were very rude! I can barely walk much less climb stairs carrying a h…

We had a + We were very impressed with the private carriage tour of the island. The view from our room and the view from the porch. − Less noise in the hallways. I do understand that it is an older house.

I had an medical emergency and only stayed 1 of 2 nights. + The decor and building are really nice. The front desk staff was very kind and helpful. − The building itself is beautiful but the noise from other rooms and the hallways once in your room is pretty bad. I could hear the person in the room next to me snoring and could hear sneezing and even soft conversations. Children talking and playing sounded like they were in my room. The food at Ice Box was mediocre. Brisket tacos had zero flavor and came cold. Almost no pesto on my pesto pizza.
