Very nice hotel straight at the beach + We spent 2 days at this wonderful place on our backpacking trip in East Africa. It was a welcome change to the low budget hotels. The staff was so courteous and we felt very comfortable. Wonderful!!!

Beautiful but strange + This place is stunningly beautiful. And I had a suite that would have cost 6x in Hawaii or similiar. Something is off however. There were barely any guests, maybe 2-3 and the place is very large. I was told by a couple of locals I encountered on the beach that up until 2 years ago it was thriving with tourists. The front desk says they market to conferences now. It is isolated. The staff is wonderful, special thanks to Hamisi and Mwiniyi. The front desk could not make cha…

When we got to the front desk, it literally took 10 minutes for someone to come out and help us check in. The guy looked like he just woke up and he was very disoriented. He walked with us to guide where our room was and the moment we stepped into our compound, there were so many bugs everywhere. Spiders on the wall, lots of ants on the floor, mosquito in the air, list goes on. We both were super tired so we just wanted to take shower and crash. Next thing you know, toilet water and shower water didn't work. I walked to the front desk area to get this fixed and they were just wondering around for two hours to figure this out why there wasn't water and they had us move into different room, even smaller r…
