Terrible service, average rooms + Good restaurant. Possibly best burger in New Zealand. Also good beer selection. − We had separate two bookings for one night because of last minute changes in planning. We asked at check-in if we could stay in the same room for both nights and we were told that it is not possible, without even a second to think or consider. We checked out the next morning at 10am from room n. 4 just to check-in the evening to the same room n.4, which just needed to be cleaned unnecessarily and we had to check-in and out from the same room. Terrible customer service. Lady at reception/bar looked very bored and bothered by us. Room number 4 doesnt have any wifi. It probably works in first room, but doesnt reach the last room.

Worth the stay, we got to see parts of the west coast we normally wouldn’t + Great location just outside Hokitika. Spacious room and bathroom − Carpet could use a refresh. Heating wasn’t good enough to get the room comfortable

To quick wanted to stay longer happy with the room could use more drinking glssses but loved it can’t complain for the p + Close to all the locations I like to explore − No clear outdoor tap to use if I need to clean something could have electric blankets in winter time but overall wasn’t freezing good value for money

We'll be back!!! + Location... quiet, with a really lovely view of the river and hills beyond; even had some frolicking sheep to watch in the field opposite the outdoor area, which is a great place to enjoy your beer and meal. The restaurant... it has the atmosphere of an age to be preserved. No music the night we were there but it must be awesome when it's 'all go'! Mitch... the front man for the restaurant and accommodation is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and patient. Food... it was delicious with delicate flavors shining through. Craft beer... some of the best we've tasted. Cleanliness...the hotel units were pristine and Rebecca the housekeeper is deserving of praise for this. − It would be lovely if the plant boxes in front of the units could be kept up, as in past photos. The odor some mention was there a little. However, after visiting Hokitika Gorge and smelling the same thing when amongst native plants in varying stages of life and decay, we wonder if the smell ma…

We were very happy + The bed was lovely and warm and the room was excellent. We were pleased with everything and our pet was happy too. Lots of room. − Hand basin seems to be blocked- and not a great place to wash dishes!
