Mooi historisch verblijf + De comfortabele bedden, het historische karakter, de locatie − Prijs voor ontbijt, hitte op de kamer (weinig ventilatie mogelijkheid)

+ We love staying at Bear Hotel. We’ve visited Woodstock many times and the Bear is always our go to. Added bonus is how dog friendly the hotel, and the village is. − I have no dislikes.

Cosy History + This is a beautiful hotel, it isn’t luxury or boutique however does have it‘s own charm. The rooms are very comfortable we stayed in rooms 32 and 33 as a family. Very clean and beds really comfy. The breakfast as stated by others isn’t the best however the Buttery cafe a few doors down does an excellent all day breakfast. If they changed the carpet downstairs and on the stairs, updated the bar and restaurant area in keeping with the style of the era (not 80s) in my opinion would make a big difference. I didn’t see any ghosts luckily, I didn’t realise until I got back home it is one of the most haunted hotels in the UK!

Great location, quirky and cosy + Very cosy we had rooms 32 and 33 they were beautiful − I wasn’t keen on when you walk in the carpet on the stairs and hallway needs replacing, the bar and restaurant were a bit dark they could be updated to the standard of the rooms.

+ The tradicional style − There was a problem with the restaurant

Disappointing + Good location in lovely Woodstock. Staff on reception friendly. − Level of housekeeping is poor. Dirty toilet seat, air conditioning broken due to being clogged up with dust. Similarly the fans. The socket for the fridge was broken so the fridge wasn’t working. Considering what we paid for a suite, it just wasn’t good enough. Restaurant very poor - both in food quality and cleanliness. Such a shame as we have stayed here before and always enjoyed it. This should be a gem of a place but it seems to be in decline.

Stay at the McDonald's Bear Hotel Woodstock + The location was excellent nice big room and bathroom friendly staff great parking room service − The room was nice but the cleaning wasn't up to four star there was a lot of dust on the headboard the heater the fan and also on top of the curtains Rail and one of the bedside tables dust was quite thick so have been there for some time the set menu in the restaurant could have add more choice of meals and we were not offered another menu but the food was adequate but the service was a bit slow we had to wait 25 minutes before we were offered a pudding but this could have been because the server was new to the job but the restaurant only had 12 people at the time but the server was very nervous but she done a good job and tried her best but was put under pressure for some other guests which they're all the best in the future and to take it deep breath and just do the job the best she could

+ Great location, friendly and professional reception staff. Room was clean and comfortable. − Breakfast was overpriced and overcooked. Really dissatisfied with the catering . For the price expected much more. The following day we found a local cafe with a lovely breakfast at half the price .

Nice place in a great location to launch from to explore The Cotswolds, but no air conditioning so please consider this + The location and the ambience. − Only that temperature controls in the room did not include air conditioning. I am from the US and so not used to accommodations without air conditioning. My room was on the first floor so leaving the windows open was a security consideration. The hotel had supplied a fan but this did not mitigate the heat enough for me to be comfortable while sleeping, unfortunately.
