We loved it. We had a beautiful broom looking over the river. It was a spacious suite. We loved the clothes that came with staying in the Onsen. We had both suppers and breakfasts which were world class. The hot spring itself was a delightful surprise. The shuttle to get into town was convenient enough and we could always find a shuttle when we want to leave or come back. We spent two days there. I would go back in a heartbeat. The view looking over the river was spectacular. I’m not so sure if we had had a room looking out on the parking lot.

The room we stayed was on the 3rd floor room 310 and it is has 2 separate room. The big room can has like a king bed with tv. The other room has the 2 twin bed with living room couch, tv, bathroom and shower room. Our view was the river which was very beautiful. I wish that they provide more channels on the tv. The amenities are superb. The dining and breakfast is more on japanese food which is quite expensive. No washer and dryer in this facility. Will come back again

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Onyado Yuinoshou In Shirakawa. Room was amazing and the experience of a private outdoor spa. Also wearing no shoes & Yukata was a lovely experience. Amazing to be only 5 mins drive to Shirawawa go heritage village.

Wonderful hotel with delicious meals + We stayed 3 nights. We had a room facing the river with two twin beds, a mall sofa and another small bed. The room was very clean and comfortable. Bathroom also very clean with a toilet room and shower. The hotel seems fairly new and is nicely decorated. The room was very quiet and had good air conditioning. A free shuttle will take you to the Shirakawa bus station (which is right near the gassho zukuri) and pick you up on a designated schedule. Many of the staff speak English. We got the breakfast and dinner included in our room plan and the meals were all delicious. Many dishes were new to us. A mix of beef and seafood. The third night’s dinner was amazing with sashimi, Hida beef sushi, and lobster hot pot (seems the more nights you stay the more amazing the food gets). The staff was very friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend this hotel if you want to stay in Shirakawa overnight but not do a farmhouse stay.

My spouse and I were on vacation with our adult son. This was our favorite hotel in Japan (out of the six hotels we stayed at). It's not the easiest to get to - the hotel's shuttle times are limited (otherwise it's a 30 minute walk from the bus station; no taxis in town), but you can leave luggage in lockers or other paid storage at Shirakawa-go bus station (which is what we did). At the bus station, you are in walking distance to everything you would want to see in Shirakawa, whereas the hotel is not walking distance to anything. The shuttle driver was very nice and helpful, as were all of the hotel staff. They spoke decent English - we used a translation app for more complex conversation. You should absolutely book room with board (includes breakfast and dinner) since there are no restaurants open anywhere nearby in the evening. You can do this on Expedia, contrary to what another review said. The kaiseki dinner was lovely. Our room was the most spacious and comfortable room w…

This was the best resort and onsen I have ever stayed in within central Japan! Huge rooms, delicious meals, and incredible value for price.

Very nice but there are other nicer Japanese hotels.

Beautiful - the only negative was that an excavator was parked right in the window views next to the river. You couldnt take a photo of the entire view without the excavator in it.

Beautiful hotel, tatami mat throughout the whole hotel lobby and hallways made the place feel very warm, cozy and full of character.

The staff were very kind & the hotel was very clean. The dinner I got served with my stay was amazing! The private bath house was also very nice. A lot of amenities provided. Free tea, ramen, etc. Be aware that the hotel is a far (about 30 minute) walk from the bus station and about 40 from the village. There are shuttle busses that will take you there, but they are small & only run at certain times. Plan ahead accordingly (I did not, which was my own fault.)
