I enjoyed my stay and it was made even more enjoyable and pleasant by the manager's friendliness. + T the manager was just wonderful in assisting me with a few issues in the first apartment he allocated for me. He happily helped me move to another room and didn't leave till he was sure everything worked and I was happy. Nice comfy bed and good shower and great location. − Carpets could do with a replacement and maybe redo the grout around the tiles in the shower.

+ The location − Very small and outdated. Having to sit sideways on the toilet because the vanity was so close. The heating didnt work at all, it was not even warm. It was squashy

Overall, we had a fabulous stay. Will definitely come back. + When we arrived at the reception we were greeted by a lovely friendly man. He told us that because it was a quiet time of the year, he upgraded us to a bigger room at no extra cost. The room was spacious and beds clean and comfy. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. The location was excellent. Being smack in the middle between Brunswick and Lygon Street both being a mere 10 minute walk. We will definitely be going back next year. They are new owners and are continuing to renovate the rooms as well as keeping the cost amazingly low for such a great location.

Nice and Affordable in a Good Setting + Excellent value for money, clean and well maintained room with excellent self-serve kitchen services. Close to a great shopping area as well as trams to the CBD. Excellent bedding and floor coverings. The staff are very friendly and honest - they even reimbursed a couple of nights fee that I didn't realise I had already paid. − The cold weather was about the only thing we didn't like but the staff couldn't do much on that front!

Great location budget friendly and clean + Location was great, staff were so lovely and room was clean and tidy. Served its purpose perfectly. − The walls are rather thin or not alot of sound insulation so you can hear everything and the traffic. I was also conscious as we had kids and the noise they could be generating for others. Was not a deal breaker though.

Definitely worth staying at if you're spending an evening in Brunswick. + I had my own kitchen, and it was a short walk from Stay Gold (at the time they operated). − The manager forgot to give me back my driver's licence after I checked in, but luckily, I was able to show a photo to the security guards at Stay Gold upon attending the event, and they accepted it.

A nice weekend watching footy and catching up with grandchildren + Location was good. Staff Exellent . − Beds need to have mattress topper on them and need softer pillows or have another option in cupboard. New carpets and a make over would not hurt. Still enjoyed stay.

Fantastic staff, refurbished room, easy tram to city + Tee and John, the staff were so helpful to us as we needed extra help with a vehicle break down. The room had new carpet, bed and was recently painted. 5 min walk to tram 19 taking us past queen Victoria market and onto the city. It has great outdoor parking off street to accommodate our camper van − Cannot complain about anything....our stay was far superior to many venue of a much higher price
