+ Domon hotel is an older hotel, & could do with some tlc, but because of the warm welcoming & helpful young man on front desk this was easy to overlook. He was eager to please & on arrival asked us if we wanted a larger room as hotel was going through a quiet time. He also greeted us every day & asked if we needed anything. He booked transfer to train station on departure, (60,000 kip) which was cheaper than Loca (72,000 kip). Hotel has 3 floors, there are no lifts. No breakfast option, but many eateries within short walk. Safety storage available at cafe nextdoor for no fee. We used this when we did a day out tubing. Balcony room was great, wonderful view of mountains, hot air balloons, paramotors etc. Shower good plenty of hot water, pressure ok. Downside... beds hard & pillows lumpy. Bathroom floor got very wet, bidet spray leaked. Thought there was a large plasma tv as pictured on website, but it was a large piece of brown painted wood, with a tv remote sitting in front! Would …

+ The location was great. However, the staff (particularly the owners) were not so friendly or helpful. We started in a balcony city view and upgraded to the mountain view (which was better). The wifi was ok, water warm enough - pressure not great. A bit run down and minimal in decor. We asked for room service after the second night it never happened. We brought our own garbage down and asked for more single use soaps... as needed. Was ok - Id look around for better
