Divided perception + 1. Room junior suite - it was on ground floor facing the woods. Humid despite AC. Clean but clearly worn down. Basic amenities. Mini bar ok. 2. Food, buffet neither of a family of four 70, 68, 43 and 45 years liked it. Breakfast was the best out of the three daily meals. We all went to sister hotel Akumal for all buffet meals, huge difference was well worth the hazzle with cart transportation. Visited only one a la carte, Alux. It was good. We also found the snack bar at Sian Ka’an acceptable. 3. Pools, well as we always went to Akumal we also used their pools. Great experience. 4. Service good with one recurring flaw. The rooms were not made up before 3/4 o’clock in the afternoon despite leaving the clean sign around 8 in the morning. Not ok 5. Very confusing regarding events/shows some were free others were charged separately. Confusing as it it is an all-inclusive resort. 6. Conclusion: The Bahia Principe Sian Ka’an did not live up to our expectations but the …

Lackluster, especially for the money and a "luxury" stay + While the resort was decent, it felt more like work than vacation. Constantly checking an app in a hopes to make dinner reservations, to restaurants that are "booked" but half the tables are open. Constantly waiting on shuttles to go to the other part of the resorts to find activities, or restaurants. Spent most our time in the same 'walk up' restaurant, or buffets (with hard bread most the time) because it was all that was available. Add that to an "okay" looking room, with very limited TV channels, and a college course to be able to work the AC (either that or it barely worked) and hot cold water that seemed to do what it wanted. I'd look elsewhere unless they cut the price of the resort in half at the very least.

Great trip! + We had a great time at Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an! Daniel at the front desk took very good care of us from check in to scheduling our dinners, even giving us a ride to our oceanside dinner on our last night! We very much enjoyed all of our food, between the buffets, snack bars, dinners, and room service, we tried and loved everything. For our anniverary dinner, they even brought us a little dessert with "happy anniversary" written out on the plate, which was super sweet. Our biggest disappointment was how early the pools closed, closing at 7pm during the summer months, which was before dark. The pool bars were very nice and they kept coming by to take our empty cups and give us more drinks. The Sian Ka'an hotel is the farthest from the other hotels on the property, which we were not anticipating, but they have consistent trams going to all of the places you could want to go on the property, so that helped! Overall, we had a very good time and wish we could have sta…

Amazing Staff and resort + Amazing experience. Upgraded to penthouse is worth it. Great service, amazing staff, clean, quiet, with a little old school fun. The staff made this trip. We loved the buffet, loved being able to go to all of the resorts, drinks amazing. For cons...our fault..going in May it is hot! Pools did not cool you off and the ocean was full of seaweed that stunk! My only complaints really for the resort. There was a large group for a wedding that came in at the end of our vacation that acted like arses but there was extra security immediately so I would say handled pretty well. We met great people and would do it all again ....just maybe in March!

A fun week in Sun + May23-30. Went on the solo room special and was upgraded to a garden room with outdoor hot tub. The room was nice, clean and everything worked properly. Food was excellent all week. Buffet meals were fresh and delicious. Great service. I did 4 ala carte dinners all being a good experience. Front desk was great to deal with during check in, check out and after locking my card in the room. Attended the fire show at Sian kaan beach bar was fun entertaining evening with tapas and cocktails hosted by Carmen. Her special events well organized and a great value. The beach has some erosion and seaweed issues but they’re working hard to keep it clean and there was several spots suitable for swimming everyday. Sian kaan is 7-8 minute cart ride to the beach. I enjoyed the tours and the people I meet on them. Longest wait for a cart to show up was about 10minutes.

Wonderful and Relaxing + We had a wonderful stay in May 2026 This resort is a gem, set back in the jungle. The level of relaxation we experienced was second to none! The employees were all fabulous and this will keep us returning. The service is the perfect balance of being attentive, without seeming intrusive. We had previously stayed at BP Tulum with our children in 2025 and had a wonderful time. When it came to booking a couples trip Sian Ka’an was a no brainer, I feel it would be hard to beat this level of service at this price point. A bit about us: we do not drink alcohol, enjoy quiet and love being out in nature. We enjoyed a premium garden suite just behind the lobby. The outdoor hot tub was wonderful in the evening, we could hear the entertainment perfectly from our patio. A highlight of the nightly entertainment was the all female mariachi band, they are not to be missed (for this we went and got a table to watch them)! They are so talented. The room was spotless …

Hotel reducing A la carte restaurant access in November2026!! + We stayed here in November 2025 having been coming back regularly for over 10 years. We love this hotel and it's jungle location and also the ability to book A la carte restaurants through out the resort hotels every night. "HOWEVER" I was recently about to book a 15 night stay here in November. My partner is a member of a Face Book group of repeat guests to this hotel and she told me there had been a number of comments that the hotel was changing it's A la carte restaurants policy on the 1st November! She said she had read that from the 1st November 2026 you would only be able to book 3 A la carte restaurants per week of your stay, currently it is unlimited. I couldn't believe this so checked the hotels own web site and sure enough it clearly states this is the case! I therefor decided to email the groups head office and also guest services at the hotel and they both confirmed this was the case. I also asked if the pol…

Not What I'd Expected + Generally speaking I think it's better to under-promise and over-deliver, but unfortunately this resort does the opposite. They claim to be a "luxury" resort, but actually it's more like a three-star motel experience. I had a few major issues with this hotel. First, they put me (a solo female traveler) in a ground floor room with patio doors opening directly onto the pool area and pathway, and then were dismissive when a drunk man terrifyingly tried to break down my door in the middle of the night. They asked me to email them details of the incident (sent 2025-12-25 at 9:54 am) and then never responded or followed up. Staff also told me that they never cut off guests from alcohol service, no matter how drunk, violent and belligerent they get, because according to management they paid to get as drunk as they want, no matter who is put at risk. (PS - For some insight into the competence of the management here, when they gave me the email address to send my rep…

Great Anniversary Holiday – Room Upgrade Made It Special ! + We’ve just returned from a brilliant 2-week stay at Bahia Principe Sian Ka’an, celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with friends. We were lucky to be upgraded to a penthouse suite on arrival – the room was beautiful, spacious, and very well equipped. We also made great use of the sister hotels, and the trolley service was handy, although waits could sometimes be a bit long. The entertainment team, especially Fabian and Toti, were fantastic and kept everyone engaged with fun poolside activities. A couple of areas for improvement – we were told by TUI the Cenote restaurant was 24 hours, which wasn’t the case, and the buffet food was often lukewarm with flies seen on the fruit at breakfast. Overall though, a great holiday in a lovely setting and a special way to celebrate our anniversary.

Great hotel and staff !! + We have just returned after 11 nights at the hotel and had a great time with no complaints. The hotel is in a jungle like setting and only a short cart trip to the other hotels in the complex and the beach - we never had to wait longer than 5 mins for a lift. Whilst the hotel is rustic in parts, our penthouse room, hotel and grounds were kept clean and tidy. We had checked in 10 days prior to arrival and managed to book the Al a cartes we wanted - yes we had to be flexible with days/times but perseverance paid off and we were happy with our selections - we even managed to book the Smoked on arrival through guest services. The buffet choices at all meals within the hotels was good and in our opinion you’d have to be hard pushed to not find something ample to eat. We loved the omelettes at breakfast really good! The entertainment team were engaging and very friendly - no pushing to join in which was great. The shows were good - we particularly liked the Jersey…

Amazing time with friends + The staff is what makes this place, Ramon and Eglady in the Sain Kaan buffet, Carlos (Charley Chan) serving drinks around the pool, Edgar at the Akumal buffet, Christian at The Smoked restaurant and Erandi in guest Services are all such great people. I can’t wait to see you all again in October😄

Mexican escape + Staff were extremely helpful, Great to have full use of all the other hotels, It would have been more beneficial if you could see the other hotels on the app. Rooms were huge with lots of space to both relax and sleep with the option of air conditioners or ceiling fans. Staff came round twice a day to refresh rooms and towels. My only critisism was the buffet food in Sian Ka'an wasn't the greatest. Didn't understand the mashed potatoes and shepherds pie for breakfast options.... It would have been great to have more Mexican food during the evening specialities.

Hotel Bahia Principe Review + We had a lovely stay at Bahia Principe Sian Ka'an and found it to be a great place for a relaxing holiday. The resort has a calm and peaceful atmosphere, making it ideal if you're looking to escape the crowds. The staff were one of the highlights of our stay. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and provided excellent service throughout. Housekeeping was particularly impressive, with our room cleaned to a high standard each day. We also appreciated the little touches, such as the turning down service at night when we returned to the room, and I loved the spaciousness and the hot tub on my ground floor room. That said, there are a few areas where the hotel could improve. Our room felt quite dated and could benefit from some refurbishment. We also had a leaking air conditioning unit and one of the lights in the room wasn't working, which was a little disappointing. The resort itself was peaceful and quiet, which was perfect for a relaxing holiday. . However du…

Amazing holiday + The Hotel was amazing very clean through out hotel , we had a superior ground floor with jacuzzi, We asked about upgrade to penthouse nothing wrong with the room just wanted a bit more privacy in jacuzzi, Gave us one half price so well worth asking as low season, The room was superb ac worked lovely very clean maid service and had room service for breakfast was excellent, Pools were quite no issue with beds as normally only a few people there water in pool was very warm but lovely, Staff were amazing pool waiter was always there when wanting a drink did give him 200 pesos for the day so well looked after , Bars also great never waiting long or waiters came to table again tipped so was looked after well, Didn’t go beach due to the seaweed smell , Now the negatives the food in buffet restaurant was excellent however I think due to low capacity at hotel only 20% full the choice was lacking one night could not find anything to eat at all it was quite bad in my opinion bu…

The staff are the stars + The staff are the stars at Sian Ka'an. Every one of them are so welcoming and cheerful. Alina made our 40th Anniversary really special and Fabian is a ball of energy, shame about the sargassum but it was still a wonderful experience.

Diabolical + This is not a 5* LUXURY hotel I made a number of complaints and even filled a complaints form in & reported complaints to Tilda the TUI rep, on return to the UK I went through the correct procedures reporting my complaints to TUI the out come was the hotel & TUI rep had no record whatsoever I was more or less called a liar. Lack of food choice, waiting 15 minutes for bacon, waiting 20 minutes for a poached egg, ran out of cereal, ran out of skimmed milk, just lettuce on the salad bar, no tomatoes, no mushrooms for omelette, no premium drinks, ran out of vodka, ran out of tonic water. Dirty toilet, pools of water on bottom & shelves of fridge and pools of water in front of fridge, ground to side of patio needed attention. Lack of daytime activities, entertainment at night (if any) only on for 45 minutes therefore there was no atmosphere, some speciality restaurants were closed and when they were open we were told no booking was necessary yet when we went to the restaurants…

Excellent Holiday once again even in off season ❤️ + We absolutely love to travel, and Sian Ka'an has become our favourite place. One of the biggest reasons we keep coming back is having access to all of the sister resorts within the complex. Every day feels like a new adventure, with so many beautiful places to explore. Sian Ka'an itself is a smaller resort, which makes it easy to navigate and gives it a relaxed, intimate atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always go out of their way to make you feel at home. The food was fantastic. We visited during the off-season, so the buffet was smaller than it is during peak season, but we always found plenty of delicious options. The à la carte restaurants were easy to book, and the quality of the food was every bit as good as it is during the busy season. The resort is spotless, and the grounds are absolutely stunning. It's just a short trolley ride to the beach. While there is some seaweed, the hardworking beach cre…
