Best Break-away Spot ever! + I've been to Blue Gum Country Estate on a number of occasions over the years and will keep coming back. I've yet to find fault of any kind - the accommodation venues are stylishly decorated and fitted, the restaurant's cuisine is sublime, and the service from the staff is beyond standard duty, not to mention the gracious owners who are always so welcoming. To top it all, the location and it's variety of activities is enough to keep any family/couple happy. And the views! This is undoubtedly a venue that ranks in my Top Three, and I will be a regular for a long time to come.

Fantastic stay at Blue Gum Coutry Estate + We had a wonderful stay at the estate. The cottages are extremely neat and clean, kitchen is very well equipped, th bed was super comfortable and linnen perfectly crisp white! The electric blanket was already switched on when arrived, that was a nice touch cause it was cold! Nice fireplace inside with wood and nice braai outside with nice views of vineyard and mountain. Breakfast was great and service with a smile. Definitely food for the soul! Nothing I can fault and can't wait to go back! Our fur kids loved it too!

Wonderful winter weekend in the Villa + The complete weekend experience was very relaxing and great. We stayed in the Villa (Main House) with the family which was very impressive. The beds were very comfortable and the whole house was very clean. Both dinner and breakfast was very good and the staff efficient and friendly. Overall a great experience and we will definitely return!

Blue Gum Country Estate + A superb country estate is hidden in the valley outside Hermanus and close to Standford. The estate is a working wine farm and child friendly. Walking trails are available and a great place for weddings and functions. Food and rooms are outstanding and friendly staff. . 130-acre piece of paradise. A wonderful getaway and certainly recommended

Very nice stay + We had a very nice stay at Blue Gum. The only negative was that we didn’t stay longer. The room was fabulous. There were very comfortable loungers outside. Our daughter loved the big play area outside. Even though it’s self-catering with a build-in braai outside we had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant. There was also a pool - obvs too cold as it’s winter but we’ll be back in summer for a swim! Our car battery died whilst there and someone from Blue Gum came to sort it immediately - so kind!

Beautiful + My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the staff was amazing, the place was SO homely, the brekki was out of this world. I would like to have let them know that they should look into hot tubs, it would push this place to a whole other level. I love this place so much. I am not too fond of the brown water though, maybe there is a way to clean it somehow.

Lovely Farm life Getaway! + Such a relaxed stay and fantastic staff to put you at ease! The dogs loved all the new farm smells and we enjoyed our meals at the restuarant and look so forward to our next stay coming up in a months time!

Lovely stay with mountain views + Beautiful,comfortable rooms and lovely mountain surroundings. (whereas I think guesthouses on the other side of the Stanford road may have less of a mountain view). Bonus: tenniscourt! Can borrow racquets and balls from reception. Dinner and breakfast very tasty. Breakfast : cold buffet and hot menu to choose from. (Note drinks with dinner not included). We had one of the rooms on the corner (of five very large double rooms that is in one building. ie not seperate cottages), so we had an extra interleading child room. Friendly staff. Big jungle gym play area and big lawns. Would return if we had the opportunity. There is also a large house seperate from the guest rooms that looks nice for a group of friends/family

Best quiet luxury getaway + If you are looking for a beautiful scenery, friendly staff and just overall tranquil time this is the place to go. Interior of the cottage has a homey luxury feel. Perfect for families as well as for couples who just want a romantic getaway. I will definitely be back again.

Blue Gum Country Estate - Perfect time in peace and tranquility for the whole family + Blue Gum Country Estate is by far the best family (including dog) accommodation and experience we have had in the Sandford area. It's nestled in nature, peace and tranquility with every amenity you could wish for. The staff are friendly and helpful. A play ground, and pool for summer, tennis courts, little library for story reading and more. The restaurant provides delicious food, some of which we were even able to enjoy delivered ready made to our cottage! There are beautiful fynbos walks and starry skies. The estate is geared for family, so while you have every comfort, the lodgings and furnishings are robust, ready for kids and dogs etc, which is amazing because you can relax and enjoy and not feel you need to apologize because your little ones used every towel in the house making a bed for their fluffy toys! Serene country stay + Blue gum estate offers a serene country visit with beautiful mountain views, springbok in the fields as you drive in and developing vineyard behind the mountain view cottages. Excellent Mid-Week Break - Despite the damp weather + Comfortable room, excellent breakfast and pleasant walks around the Estate and the hills behind. Also, close to the other attractions in the Stanford area. Dirt road was a bit muddy with the recent rain, but easily passable in a salon car.

One of the nicest places I've ever stayed! + I had the pleasure of staying at Blue Gum for a week with a group. It was amazing. 1971 Engineering Cadets Reunion + General comment:- The venue suited our requirements with 7 pax having a 52 year, social reunion. Breakfast was standard fare and adequate. Access and exiting Blue Gum CE was very difficult at this time following recent severe flooding. Some maintenance upkeep required on some doors and window handles and latches. Blue Gum Country Estate + My family and i had an amazing stay, the food was good the service better , only to be surpassed by the scenery and stunning sun sets/rises. This place caters for and allows for complete relaxation, as we could sit on our enclosed balcony and listen to various bird species ( and we could even see some springboks grazing in the field). The location also lends itself as platform to visit nearby towns that will take you from a river cruise to shark cage diving.

So awesome! + We stayed in the villa at Blue Gum. A beautiful, very spacious house at the top of the hill, looking over the valley on the one side and up at the mountain on the other. We enjoyed multiple chill areas, depending on where the sun was at the time of day. We had friends and kids with us. Our five year old boy loved catching frogs and fish with his hand net in the ponds around reception. Our eight year old girl enjoyed playing tennis and lying by the pool while the boys and men went bundubashing down to the river where we saw some bushbuck and plenty of exciting animal spoor (clawless otters, porcupines, smaller bokkies and what must have been caracal). Anton, our host, was a legend. He went out of his way to make sure all of the activities were in order for us and the kids. The house is perfect for entertaining and chilling, so that is what we did. Thanks for having us!

Great farm stay for families + We had a lovely time with our grandparents, child and dog renting two units at the Bluegum Country estate, enjoying the tranquility, the playground and the space around us.

Rest and Relax + Having your morning coffee while watching springboks grazing between the barren winter vines was absolutely amazing. Blue Gum Country Estate was the perfect place to unwind and relax, we especially loved our morning visit from Skye the friendly collie. We hope to visit again soon.

Nice stay! + Very nice spot with a nice view. Rooms are very clean and in good shape. The owners are very nice and flexibel. Only remark that the pool wasn’t clean at all and the restaurant was temporary closed. If this is open it is a perfect Place to stay.
